News Strike - Philippine Pilots Take a Ride on Marine Corps Fighter Jets

Exercise Haribon Tempest focuses on fostering relations between the U.S. and the Republic of the Philippines. As a part of the effort, pilots from the Philippine Air Force got a rare opportunity to fly in Marine Corps fighter jets. Corporal Fareeza Ali joined them at Clark Air Base to bring you the story.

The purpose is for us to know the capabilities of our ally & to learn about close air support. Maj. Maynard Mariano already tell it in his speech. Where not gonna buy the hornet that plane is already 30 years old with a high maintenance cost even the US Navy want to get rid of it, hence they are changing to the F-35C & F-35B by 2020. Where not gonna used it, if we can afford it maintenance cost out weight the length of service, personnel training & price. Reason why the Philippine Air Force did not bother to buy the F16 either.

hala bili ng F18 bukas. ok. may pera kaya pang training? enough to be combat ready and to beat a well-trained pilot in a high performance fighter from an advanced country like China? kahit meron, wala namang support oh di chicken lang yan pag barilin ka ng Mig using "basic" fighter maneuvers... gaya ng Sokol na nag crash. Madali bumili ng kagamitan brad. ang training to maximum proficiency ang problema. hindi binabudget ng husto yan.
