Let's hope Kislev gets an actual army soon. Unlike Cathay, Kislev is a major player in the Great War Against Chaos in the current time of the Old World, so GW has no excuse.

I mean it's thanks to TWW that Fantasy rose back from death as TOW and it's utterly bizarre that two factions that were heavily advertised in both TOW and TWW don't have their own armies yet. Especially Kislev. BTW, hoping TWW will give Kislev some more unique/thematic units because I'm still feeling bad after SoC (even after the updated because no Hag Mothers due to retcons and equally idiotic reasoning).

Kind of figured when they finished the article with “coming SOON” and most of the kits still being available in aos. Will probably see the next army at nova which is likely high elves given the corresponding shields on logo but I’m hoping for empire

The core WoC units (like warriors, knights and chariots) have really aged pretty well compared to some of the the other TOW armies. If only the Chaos Warriors had a bit more dynamic poses, I wonder if one could do something about this with their kit.

It does fit rank and flank well that's true, I dont think the new AOS Warriors would be that fitting for TOW, even tho they are super cool. But maybe a middle ground between the two would Hit the sweet spot for me ^^

There is a campaign configuration mod that lets you extend your campaigns massively! I love it. You make a game, then change the effects a clinate has on construction time and growth. I set it to 300% and you spend much longer on each tech tier. And you use warband to upgrade fat more becaise of it.

i figured they would becoming sooner generally happens with secondary lines when a main line game gets a edition launch rode maps get out of sink but then make up for the slow down by speeding up the next release

btw at Nova Open in a week or two there was some The Old World announcement promised. What you reckon is up next ? Wood Elves ? or something else ? Someone on Facebook mentioned that the armies are getting released in some order according to the rule books but I cannot see it.

I'm thinking it'll be high elves because we're pre magnus the pious or the twelfth everchosen and war against chaos so it'll be the high elves trying to push back the inevitable rising tides of chaos

As a TW player just getting into table top, I can't wait to play against these armys, they look so cool. Here is to wishful thinking that the monkey warriors are now set to release in the foreseeable future (I'm mentally deranged). 🐒👑

Im a bit disappointed that we get so littel new stuff to play with yeah i know the most of the old stuff looks decent but not everthing ( Looking at Chaos ogers) hope they give us in the Future more new stuff to play with and now that GW is ramping up they release speed maybe we can get all core races by early 2025

It seems like GW doesn't want to invest in TOW - or even deal with Fantasy altogether -, but I don't think their shareholders let them leave an established and potentially lucrative IP on the shelf. It sounds pretty conspiratorial, but I believe a few people in GW's upper management staked their careers on killing Fantasy. I think TOW was meant to be a second grave for Fantasy - a low risk way to show shareholders that the IP was dead - but GW management misjudged consumer interest. As a result, GW is now stuck between a rock and a hard place - pressured by shareholders to handle an IP they have no interest in and no plans outside of burying it as soon as they can.

That all sounds good. But one thing is missing from all these Factions. New Novels. 😕 Do you know if the army journals are for people that are just interested in the lore and not the TTRPG itself?

It's weird that's novels have basically stopped but it seeks to be an issue eith Black Library at the moment only focusing on 40K, the other settings and hell even some 40K factions are pretty much suffering lately

I'd be curious to know the reasons behind the seemingly accelerated release schedule for TOW. Were the prior TOW releases selling that well? Did the new AoS 4ed box underperform? Is GW looking to pad this quarter's reports?

I know for a fact that TOW has in fact exceeded expectations for sales. Spoken to a few people about it. So I imagine (just guess work here) they want all factions out sooner rather than later so they can: 1. Get a lot of TOW sales during Xmas as that's their BIG sales point with all factions that would lead to me 2. With all factions out they can focus on new stuff for the setting which would get an even larger boost of sales

@@TheGreatBookofGrudges the Christmas sales I can see 100%, but I'm not sure I agree with the second point. I don't think GW actually had a long-term plan with TOW. I think it was something that their shareholders pressured management into, and that management attempted to spitefully turn into a second grave for Fantasy, but that attempt backfired. A big part of the reason why I'm curious to know what the TOW announcement this week is, and moreover, what GW will do once we get closer to the release of all core factions, is to attempt to gauge GWs investment in this property. A handful of new models and a sporadic updating of some kits from metal to new resin hasn't exactly screamed "we're in this for the long haul".

Here's what they need to do. Take the new AOS sculpts for Chaos, scale down the rendered files from 32mm to 28mm, make new moulds, and repackage the 28mm versions for Old World.
