awakened realms are banging more and more kickstarter projects out.and already it looks like times are slipping back on more and more of their projects!..they need to make sure they are getting their games out inside a reasonable time.not falling further and further behind because of the ever increasing projects.

I don’t know. I don’t think they have any more projects then other companies of their size and they’ve been pretty solid in fulfillment imo. Tainted grail is fulfilled. Castles of burgundy is fulfilled. So now, I think, their only projects currently are STALKER, Nemesis Retaliation, Grimcoven, and Puerto Rico. I didn’t back stalker or Puerto Rico. Stalker appears to have fulfilled wave 1, relatively late I will grant you, and is about to mass produce wave 2. I know nothing about this campaign so I can’t really speak on it one way or the other. Nemesis Retaliation shipped split shipment content. It appears they are probably going to be a couple months late but not out of the ordinary. Grimcoven and Puerto Rico are still pretty fresh and appear to be on track. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ So really they only have 4 projects right now. 2 of which are pretty much mass production stage so nothing really to do on their end.

@@1992Rainbowdog ah yes. You are correct. I did forget lands of evershade. Which is also still pretty early. I think Puerto Rico is a reprint? I could be wrong. But assuming it is, then that’s still only 2 newer projects.

Glad I pulled out of the Monpoc KS. I was debating either to go all in for everything or nothing and went with nothing at all.

Good choice. I really wanted to play it with my kid... Now I have to wait for files and 3d Print everything? They knew they could not deliver during the KS. It sure seems like fraud.

@jgsugden it's a really cool game. I played the original privateer press version way back in the day and this non blind buy version was definitely appealing but the all in was ridiculously high to get all the factions and I already have so many 1v1 arena/skirmish style games I just decided to pass

I played it back in the day and still have enough to field a few different groups... but I was backing this to play with my eldest son and we probably missed the window when I could get him to sit down and play. It is a huge theft of my money and the opportunity. It sucks.

Creators on a “free” platform expecting to make a living and users consuming “free” content know that advertising is the smaller visible part of social media’s business and selling their user’s information is the larger danger.

I have a solution to stop every negative reaction to crowdfunding fulfillment based on delivery time: Deliver games on time. They are setting their own delivery dates. It's not some arbitrary date imposed on them by the public. Are they trying to appear more desirable by setting unrealistic dates to start with? Absolutely. Are people bringing their torches and pitchforks out because a game is 2 months late? No.... Well, maybe Ralph and Larry, but no one takes those guys seriously. Why is it always the consumer that has to have empathy? Why is the backer always required to "avoid toxicity"? How about empathy for the backer who scrimped and saved $100 to help you realize your dream, who is still waiting 12 months past the due date? How about these creators and publishers avoid the toxic practice of giving unrealistic fulfillment times (that by this point we ALL know are false seeing how maybe 1 in 10 deliver on time)? There is no way 90% of projects "encounter unforseen, unavoidable delays". They're promising things they, at this point, they don't even intend to deliver (pun included) on. I think it's time to stop expecting backers to continue to allow, accept, and expect poor performance from creators and start expecting creators to, bare minimum, live up to their promises. To stop taking games with only a genre and title to crowdfunding and promise development, playtesting, and production in a year. To realize that you can add these 10 new "great ideas" and be a year late, or deliver what you promised on time and have great material for the expansion you could crowdfund right when your game drops and hype is high. I honestly think backers would prefer this, and it would be healthier for the hobby as a whole.
