Only minutes after England scored a last-minute winning goal in the Euro 2024 semi-final on Wednesday night, Wynberg resident Khemal Harris heard an eerie silence followed by a loud bang.
The sound was accompanied by the roof of his home being ripped off during a storm that has battered the Western Cape.
The strong, swirling winds struck Harris' and his neighbour's home on either side, leaving a trail of wreckage on Sussex Road - ripping sheets from roofs and electrical wires from their poles, and even leaving bricks torn from walls.
