South Africa is my favourite country in the world and Africa is my favourite continent in the world, a close 2nd is South America. I've been to every continent and 54 countries and you can't beat the food/people/wildlife/nature, everything in South Africa is amazing. I'm from Australia, love my country, South Africa is like Western Australia x10, if that makes sense, wait until you see the wineries, scenic mountain passes and all the South African people invite you into their homes, even if they don't know you. Beware of the monkeys when they're on the road, especially when someone runs over one of their family, the rest of the many family members will congregate around the dead monkey on the road, it's so sad.

Consider changing your plans, once done with Victoria Falls, cut through Botswana into Namibia and make your way down to Cape Town…then head back via Garden Route back to Durban. If you do decide to do this and if you’re able to pull this off, make sure to plan the road trip down to the Cape so that you end up spending as much time in Cape Town and in the process, spoil yourselves to a much needed break (recovery time). Safe travels and welcome to South Africa 🇿🇦 PS: try and stay off the dirt roads (where you have a choice) it will save you a lot of time and Trudy will thank you for it.

Absolutely this. I think it's part of basic democracy to give people the time off to be able to vote. I still find it perplexing that in the USA, for instance, many people can't vote simply because their managers won't give them the time off. Now of course many people in SA also work on voting day - it's not like the shops are closed - but at least for many people it's much easier to vote.

I have to admit, as much as it was very interesting seeing India, once you were there there was no way but to move in and it was so stressful to watch. I can’t imagine how it affected you. I’m so happy to see you in South Africa.

Aaah it's so great you ended up coming to our beautiful country. People will do anything to help and make sure you have a great time. Best country in the world.
Loving this! Moved to Durban in 1968 as a 10yo American kid. My dad brought our new 1968 Pontiac Lemans (left hand drive) with us to SA. It only had a rear Oklahoma license plate so we had to have a plastic version made for the front and a LHD sticker on the back. Do I ever remember bunny chows as a kid! We lived there for about 10 years on the South Coast. I'll never forget the place or the friends I made. I'm living in the Philippines now.. same climate as Durbs.. I still have family in the Cape over there.

You two are so amazing, and very fun to watch. Such incredible people (like Mark and Andrea-my shoutout to you both beautiful souls) you're meeting along the way, and it does prove there is at least some hope for all of us to get along and live life as it should be for everyone, without the insanity or immorality we experience day to day, and are so often presented 'in our face' to boast the offenders repulsive behaviors. Take all the known/learned/advised and obvious precautions you can to enjoy every day's new adventures. Godspeed, health and happiness to you on each UK bound trek through South Africa's beautiful landscapes and roads. I didn't expect the beauty you've already shown us, so Thank You for that, too!

They certainly got your African adventure off to a good start. You guys must have slept soundly that first night in Trudy. Well deserved! ❤️❤️😎👍xx

Amazing, I lived in South Africa and Zimbawe as a kid. I have visited Victoria falls and my father is buried in a town called Wankie in zimbawe after a huge mine disaster in 1972.

Love your new video on south Africa. You will love Kruger park. We are planning a tour around South Africa shipping our 4x4 from the uk to Durban so your shipping and insurance information was great to know. We have driven in south Africa before and we have a house over there which we use as our start base. Vic falls is amazing place and friendly. Go on a boat trip along the Zambezi River You will see hippos and elephants and crocks We cant wait to travel next year and start our Utube channel. We have followed your journey around India. But our plan is just south Africa its a great country. Have a great time and we look forward to seeing your journey.

The drink sold by the side of the road could be Amasi (in Ndebele, Zulu and Xhosa), emasi (in Swazi), maas (in Afrikaans), or mafi (in Sesotho). It is a thick curdled sour fermented milk product that is sometimes compared to cottage cheese or plain yogurt but has a much stronger flavor. @55:35
