Everyone those claiming the woman was intoxicated-so what? Drinking alcohol above a certain age is not a crime in Odisha. The police should support the victim, not exploit her situation. Why wasn’t the lady constable in uniform? Why wasn’t the station in-charge present? Why wasn’t an FIR filed after the initial complaint? The authorities must act responsibly. The army should step in, and both parties should undergo narco and polygraph tests to ensure justice is served and set a strong precedent by punishing the guilty.

The DCP has zero supervisory ability over his subordinates. Without proper investigation, he simply copied and pasted the version as fed by the culprits. 1) People go to the PS when in dire need. It’s obvious for them to be aggravated. Police should be trained to be able to calm them down and take necessary action based on urgency. 2) Why would someone bite, assault cops inside PS when gone for filing complaint. If complaint becomes aggressive, they must be restrained and video-graphed not ASSAULTED. 3) When the complaint identified himself as an officer of Indian army, he should have been given due courtesy. Severing army personnel can’t be locked up just like that without informing nearest military station. 4) Why this model police station didn’t have CCTV? 5) Why a corrupt inspector made in charge of an important police station. The IIC is on record asking for bribe in his previous posting. This is gross illegal use of authority and absolute crime.
