a great singer and songwriter. i saw him regularly at Passim's in Cambridge in the late 70's and early 80's. A pro's pro. I raised my kids on him and Bill Staines. RIP David...you will be missed.

So sad to hear the news. David was an inspired and inspiring musician. I first heard him live at a New Years Eve concert during First Night in Downtown Boston at one of the churches where his music first hooked me - around 1982. Have always had a soft spot for his wonderful songs. I will continue to include at least one of his songs in my set when I can. Rest in Peace and condolences to his family. 🙏❤

Just yesterday morning I thought about David and was wondering how he was, Later in the afternoon while I was working I heard my wife yell "OMG" loudly from downstairs. David and his songs are a treasure to all who followed his career. I am proud to have worked with him on more than one occasion.God Bless The Mallett family.

Loved David Mallett's music since his first album came out in 1978, which I bought on impulse. So grateful I got to see him play live a couple of times in Portland. He will be missed but what a wonderful collection of music he left for us to enjoy forever.

Millions of us sang that song, The Garden Song. It rolls. It flows. It tells some simple truths. We loved it.

So sorry to hear this ... when I was in college; his roommate from college was my photography teacher. And of course Pete and Arlo have sung this song over and over.
