I was a 5"4 and 120 lb. Teenage boy, age 15, hitchiking from Bethel to Auburn one summer, about 630pm. A big man in a red truck with Mass license plates picked me up, turned onto a dirt road to "roll a joint", when we got a ways down the dirt road he pulled a hammer from under his seat, I BOLTED out my door while the vehicle was still going maybe 20mph, he tried to lock me in, I felt the door vibrate from the lock function AS I opened it. I landed on the dirt, got up, and ran through the woods back to the main road somewhere near Minot, I flagged down the next car who picked me up and I got the F out of there. I reported it, but the cops never located the truck or the man driving it. He was large, bald, had a red rusty beard and bright blue eyes, bunch of shitty tattoos. I am 37 now and I still remember that happening like yesterday. I escaped a serial killer in Minot in Maine, nearly 25 years ago. Be careful out there.

You should consider telling the folks what year this happened instead of making us do the math... we're Mainers, make it simple

It's been 53 years since Judith Hand was murdered but still unsolved. I think it's about time to have the police share what they know with the public. She was 15 years old, lived in Farmington, ME. She disappeared on Sept. 10, 1971 and her body was found 13 days later, buried in a sawdust pile within half a mile from home.

Is this going to be a weekly thing? If not, NewsCenter should try that out. According to a quick search, there are more than 120 unsolved homicides/missing persons cases in Maine going back to 1953. Maybe try a monthly thing, 1 case a month. 🤷🏽♂️

All of these stories are so INCREDIBLY sad... These families not only want resolution but deserve it... I couldn't imagine the grief, the sleepless nights, the wondering... It's soul crushing... and unfair... To the families of those featured: My heart breaks for all of you... I hope that someone speaks up... I'm so sorry after all of these years, that you are still searching, either for your missing loved one or the responsible party... May you all find the answers you so deserve... To the person(s) responsible... Give these families the peace that they deserve before it's too late... You were selfish when you took the life away from the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, other family and friends... Speak up... Do what's right and come forward... Do it anonymously... Just do it... How have you been able to live with yourself all of these years??? Aren't you tired of looking over your shoulder??? Do you get anxiety when you hear sirens behind you??? Or are you just so complacent after all of this time that you feel nothing??? How would you feel if this was your loved one??? Don't take your secret to the grave... Leave a letter confessing... Something, anything... It's not fair for these families!!! @Newscentermaine This should be a series... Feature one or two victims each episode... As in depth as you can... Even if it's only for social media... ONE tip could be the puzzle piece that "fell on the floor" or "got stuck in the corner of the box"... SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!!!

Questions about Scott: Why did he and his wife split? Was he abusive to her? If he had scratches all over his face, were they there when he got the hotdog? Why was he leaving his gf’s apt in the middle of the night? This sounds like it could be a case of vigilante justice. Maybe look at people close to that gf: her dad or former bf.

That dude with his hand up looks an awful lot like the missing Kittery guy himself, in that he has a bushy reddish-brown beard that appears virtually identical to the missing man. Maybe he HIMSELF was merely picking up his OWN mail, and simply didn't want to be recognized/found.
