Vital People: Knitting dolls for children

I tried to donate homemade stuffed toys for children at food banks (UK) last year at Christmas and was told they couldn’t accept them because they didn’t have a CE quality certificate. They were made from cotton yarn and organic kapok filling-all natural materials and yet they preferred to take plastic fluff made in a sweat shop from China. I made a fruit cake, no UPF, for a homeless shelter and received the same response. The world has gone mad. I now knit woollen hats and gloves and take them into town and give them to the homeless. We have a coffee and a chat. I feel like I’m doing a little bit of good with my hobby and they seem to appreciate being noticed. So many people just look the other way and walk on by. Kindness costs nothing yet is worth a fortune.❤

I knit and the stuffing has to be a certain type (like from hobby craft) Maybe you’ll get better satisfaction if you pay extra special attention to their regulations. Good luck and best wishes

I would love to donate my crafted toys to Children. I make dolls ,teddy bears, bunnies etc. If I only have any connection to someone that takes it to a right place.😌❤️
