Enhanced ID is even better. It has the basics that real id has and more you also have to prove you're an American citizen. And it's more expensive. Those workers need more education for sure

@@bigred9428 the only bad thing about enhance ID you can drive or take a bus to Canada and back. But you can’t go on a plane to Canada with that ID. You have to get a passport.

I have a Michigan EDL (no star but has US flag). Was flying out of BTW last month and asked every TSA about my license. Most of them never even heard of an EDL. I hope they train agents better.

Your license says enhanced correct? We are trained to accept that however we have a huge list of ID's we accept so sometimes remembering them all is difficult. But then I learned about enhanced IDs years before I worked for TSA.

@@eddyvideostar TSA is supposed to have books that list most of the IDs that are accepted however government IDs (FBI, CIA, Judges, state reps, etc) aren't in them. Making a list is actually against protocol.

This is an infringement of the right to travel. You can’t denied someone the right to travel if they don’t have an enhance ID. This is done for profit nothing to do with security.

You need a Real ID, which just checks all the boxes that the Federal Government deemed will keep us a little safer, and hopefully, no planes will be hijacked again. Enhanced goes a step further and confirms that you are a US citizen, but not all states have them. That is the reason for this news piece -- which is already 3 years old, so I am sure that they've cleared any problems up.

No. People need to be educated. Difference with enhanced is that you can use it to get back into the country instead of a passport. Also can be used to go to Canada, Mexico & Bahamas.

Enhanced id is valid. You should not need to wait 9 months for a passport to be able to fly domestically.
