Couple rush to bring items inside before tornado hits

Alisha and her boyfriend Quincy scramble to bring everything inside from their patio after receiving a tornado warning in Dallas, Texas. The tornado is already approaching and Alisha states that they have around two minutes to get everything inside. Alisha holds the door to keep it from swinging wide open while Quincy quickly brings in his tools and other supplies. Luckily, both Alisha and her boyfriend were able to make it through the tornado unharmed.

Tornados aren’t like hurricanes .. most of the time you don’t have time to prep for a tornado. Also, pretty sure they weren’t in the direct path. Nothing wrong with putting your things inside when you’ve got wind gusts that won’t destroy your home

Sometimes there are only just warnings, but they're usually longer than two minutes, you just have to be checking the weather service before the event to keep track of things. And you certainly shouldn't be prioritizing camerawork.

If we had been in the center of the house by the bathroom we would have been toast.. boards came through the bathroom and the ceiling , the roof and the center of the house came off on half the house and the opposite end too... It basically came through 2/3 of the place. We were in the living room on the end it didn't hit ❤ I thank God for forgiving and letting us live a bit longer! 😊😂❤

Ever see a tornado take a high rise down? Yea, they don’t . So what is wreckless? Glass that is 10 x more resistant to impact than a typical home with 1/8”ds units? High rises use minimum 1” units 1/4-1/2,1/4 , tempered, sometimes laminated . Of course it can and will still fail in a powerful enough tornado but the tower always remains standing. Are you suggesting they design without glass so it’s safer if there is a tornado? Might as well build cement boxes .

I managed to get it closed and went and got on my knees and started praying.The tornado passed over us but around the corner right by the highway you see where it went through the woods and just cut down these giant trees. My mother's family survived an F5 in 1942. The last thing my mother remembered was her mother throwing her down on the couch and then lying down over her as her grandfather tried to pull the door closed, when the house essentially exploded. The counch ended up about 300 yards away. My grandmother broke a leg and received facial lacerations. My great-grandfather received bruises and scrapes. My grandfather was working in the fields, my uncle was at school a couple of miles away, and just watched. Tornados are driven by a core of very low pressure. If the pressure differential is great enough to pull doors open you have only seconds to get to cover. If inside, away from doors and windows. But truth is, if you don't have a basement you're better off outside lying in a ditch. Face down, feet pointing into the wind, arms over your head, in the lowest depression you can find.
