From my experience GRT is good. I recently sold my 50 savaran jewels. All grt jewels were pure gold. We sold it to our uncle who is in jewelry business. We were there when he melted each n every jewel(each jewel bought at different time for the past 15 to 20 years from GRT). Though the wastage is really high at GRT, I always feel like "kaasuku eatha dosa" 😕😕😕

There are almost 60+ types of malpractice in Gold Jewellery manufacturing in mid 2000s we moved this through consumer federation council but Big players suppressed the issue. I have bad experience with GRT jewelers . The gold jewel I bought started inching my skin which is very new to me. Am using it. Am using other gold jewels which is it have any impact on my skin. The jewelry even has hallmark n 22 carat . But the quality is not good.

We also purchased GRT ma'am. They used some chemical to show the brightness of the jewelery which you compare to other Shops it's more brighter in GRT that's the reason you got etching in your skin.

Even i had bad experience with grt.I brought gold and black bead mixed anklet for my baby 3 yrs ago and that time they charged for the gold beads and also for the piece rate as it has black beads too. After using for 3 years now I could see that the gold colour of the chain has faded into silver colour but I don't have the bills to fight with them so i decided to never buy any gold from them.. Cheaters they are.

I am also from goldsmith background, you can test the jewels via gold testing shop and check hall mark symbol. Some bengali jewel makers doing this kind of frauds. Jewel factories have so many bengal employees in their factories. They focusing only their profit not for the quality. In 80' s and 90's they give one week time to produce a jewels but now a days they're made jewels within a day. Find the difference.

916 is not a method sir. It is simply ratio of pure gold to copper. 22 carat gold means 22 portion pure gold 2 portion copper. So 22/24 = .916. That's all. Even today cadmium only is used for bonding gold jewellery. I am in this field for 30 years.

The thing with stone jewelry is: You can't fit some stones in just gold. It will look bad or it will increase the amount of gold which makes the jewel even more expensive, leading the customers to not buy it. Some customers want to buy stone jewelry at less cost. As such what they do is apply some wax. This is not wrong. What is wrong is manipulating the amount of gold in it. What stores need to do is: Weigh the jewelry BEFORE the wax and stones are applied on the jewelry. This is the actual amount of gold in the jewelry. Then add the wax and stones and calculate the weight again. You need to mention these in the receipt too. For the gold net weight, customers can check the day's market price themselves and multiple the gram amount. The extra price is for the stones (They won't use cheap stones found in Bazar. Most times it is expensive stones as such they too have a price when you buy the jewelry). They mention stone weight in GRT. Everything is clearly mentioned in bills. As far as I know, they do not use wax. Only Gold to set the stones. That's why their jewelry is more expensive compared to some fraud shops which advertise "Cheap gold jewelry" You will never find a case on GRT for fraud gold. Ever. Customers need to either buy plain gold and avoid stones or go to shops like GRT and spend more money so the stones are set in gold and not wax.
