Steve Krakauer is wrong. It is always smart to talk to the person in charge, regardless if you agree or disagree with any of his ideas. The hosts of "Morning Joe" have known Trump a lot longer than most people in the media. The idea of talking to Trump directly is indeed much better than talking to his surrogates in the media or in the political arena. And even if it is done to promote viewership, there is nothing wrong with that because promoting viewership is exactly what newsnation, fox, msnbc and the rest of the media have been doing 24/7.
