In all coastal regions, such as France, Italy, Greece, and Spain, seawater is directly used for firefighting with water bombers and boats equipped with pumps. Why doesn’t Los Angeles, despite its proximity to the ocean and its annual wildfire season, have the resources to implement this approach? Is it corruption?

When the Presidential plane flies into a destination, a certain amount of airspace has to be closed down to other aircraft. That means firefighting helicopters and planes would not be allowed to fly in the closed off airspace, while the presidential aircraft is in that airspace. Plus, what do you think really would be accomplished with the President and VP coming to that area? Nothing. Just like NC, TN, and FL after the hurricanes this past summer.

No, the issue was not the location, the issue was the forest maintainence, water supply and fire fighting capabilities. All of which were not only ignored but actually reduced
@LoboalphaMASTER3 сағат бұрын
That wasn't the issue, the issue was that they didn't do proper cleaning on the surrounding brushlands, so a lot of flamable material accumulated, branches. fallen leaves and such, providing the fire with ample amounts of fuel for the fire, had they done that, the fire woul'nt have advanced to ferouciously.

@@skierprincessakify: Your comment and others are correct. However, building in ravines, around steep, brushy hillsides simply makes matters worse. Ravines act as natural funnels and help the fire speed up. It's also obvious that lots of people can't or won't take measures to make their property more fire-resilient. It's a complex problem that doesn't have one simple answer.

Dems keep saying "California is the 5th biggest economy in the world" as if that somehow means everything is hunky dory. But even the most blind can now see that having hundreds of billions of taxes means nothing when that money is spent on woke nonsense, gifts to ideological friends overseas, and lining the pockets of officials. Who ever thought an administration would ignore things like water and power? If California re-elects this administration it should be officially declared an asylum.

"I am deeply angered by the growing intensity of the LA fires. It has become so massive, and it feels like we’re witnessing the impact of what we call ‘Glover change weather.’ I remember a few years ago when there was another massive fire. My older sister, who lives in Irvine, took photos of the situation, and the smoke was dangerously close to her house. The news covered it, and it was clear how serious the fire was. Yet, despite the increasing severity of these fires, I don't see any meaningful action from the California government to address this crisis. It's frustrating because, even with all the warning signs, no real preparations or changes have been made. I might be emotional right now, but the question remains: who is responsible for this? I believe the government, especially the governor, who is the decision-maker, must take responsibility for ensuring that such disasters are handled effectively."

The Southern California Wildfire Area was the place I often visited when I was a graduate student at UCLA from 1964 to 1968. In particular, Pacific Palisade was once where I stood on the Pan Pacific Center float and waved to the audience during the July 4 celebration on behalf of the international students. At that time, wildfires were only seen in high mountain forests where there were few people and few houses, and never affected the residential areas of the rich by the sea(Pacific Palisades /Malibu),Mulhound Drive is scenic drive close to UCLA, quite often I drove there to relax, San Fernando Valley where VA Center located quite often we used the facility to discuss GI research and Sherman Oaks my host family house there almost every year I spent Christmas together but the couple passed away after I moved to Villanova learned from their daughter there, what worried me most is UCLA Campus near by Hwy 405 and Sunset Blvd, 45,000 students were asked to stay out side and ready to be evacuated if fire close in, so far it moved further eastern north toward Ensino by the less stronger wind. It was blamed not to construct canal to move water from North California to LA area was turned down because of environmental issue to preserve some special insects and fishes along the route , California Governor used federal money 57 B allocated for building reservior even water dam to keep water for fire use for something else and LA City mayor recently cut fire department force by almost 1800 money saving to use to build houses for homeless people (mostly refuges from south America), such laid off some fire fighters filled by others including inmates to fulfill DEI.

Here is an idea, let them help you with looking into fires even if takes a week to get those teams together especially for airtime. Then be ready because they may for the first time call in a real or new rescue team and you all may need to highjack aircraft and interrogate those people for info. Also leave those people there and do like they do and have it ready that you just couldn't go pick them up. Too risky for aircraft. Also maybe watch them with drone to hear what they all have to say. Let them walk around in fires they all started.
