I feel the same. But when a bomb is going off, and the terrified animal keeps trying to run off in fear of the explosions and gunfire, you cannot always control them while taking them on a three-day hike with you, across all kinds of terrain, while carrying your little children and baggage. You also cannot get pets on the trains with you unless you can hold them in your lap. Small children must also be kept on the adult's lap on the trains. The pets of Ukraine need someone to care for them, because sometimes they physically cannot go along.

@@sophiepires792 I'm not saying it's always impossible. Only that for some people, it is impossible. I am glad to hear that the other countries are allowing pets in. I've seen images of people with large dogs, sleeping at train stations, because the train wasn't able to fit them with their pet, the last time it came by. Pets in carriers & in people's arms were able to go on the train. And one heartbreaking image of a terrified dog, racing through the streets, constantly changing direction as the bangs of the guns and weapons terrified him, really sticks with me. There was no human owner in sight. The poor traumatized dog!

Same here! I have already told my (all adult) children, and my grandchildren, that I will NOT leave my BEST FRIEND behind!! He's a dog, 11,5 years old and he's "obsessed" with me, having severe anxiety if I only leave our house. Frightened by loud sounds. But he has bravely saved my life twice, although he's just 12 kilos 🌟💪❤️ I live in Sweden, 🇸🇪 Scandinavia, and we will not be allowed to take ANY animal friend with us, IF we need to leave into bomb shelters. 💔 So, IF so, I will stay with him! (I am 56 yo, disabled&sick from a tumour, so of no "use" to the others, IF there's a war...) 💙💛 I completely understand you, Anniefanny Charles! 💞

Thank you so much for telling our story. I was a bit nervous but I wanted to let people know what was going on in Ukraine from the side of animal rescuers. I've been volunteering for TFASD organization for about 3 years. I can witness how people are divided into those who care and those who don't. I saw how a lost puppy was standing in the middle of the road and a group of military vehicles was coming up. Those who left this puppy would be responsible for its' death in case if it dies because the vehicles were on duty! We are grateful to everyone helping us to evacuate dogs and cats from the war zone. We want them all to be safe!

They have no choice , people are having to walk for days carrying their small children and their few belongings in many cases to get to the trains and there isnt even enough room on the trains for the people

Have you seen the TRUE videos from the war zones? 😱 And they have been left, the citizens, without any food, water, heating, electricity or meds for quite some time, while houses, schools, hospitals etc are being bombed! They aren't ALLOWED to bring larger dogs, can't carry the smaller ones if you have to help babies and the old relatives. 💔 And also, as CIVILIAN homes are bombed& destroyed, people are killed!! So some dogs and cats have no owner left alive! 💔😰 (Still, there are those who refuse to leave, no matter being killed! Also, most men are staying and fight the Russian army 💙💛💪)

True heroes!!!! The Ukrainian people are such brave, courageous heroes with the kindest & biggest hearts of anyone I’ve ever seen!!! I absolutely love the Ukrainian people & if u could, I’d come over & help her rescue these innocent animals who are probably so scared & co fused right now!! As Ghandi said “The greatness of a nation & its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” and there is zero doubt that Ukraine is a great nation!!! @@Lovesongs-Deathdance Nobody forces anyone to leave their cat or dog! If I have to go my pets come with me. They can walk themselves or be carried by me or a family member, neighbor, even kids can take turns to carry a cat for example. My cat would ride with me on my wheelchair. If it's not possible I stay with them. But if I can get transportet so can they! 🐕🐈💗 Lets face it many people in eastern european countries do not care too much about the wellbeing of animals. It's like how it was in the rest of Europe decades ago... there are exceptions of course like this woman and her organisation or the people who took their fur family with them! But all the other pets who are now alone? May God be with them in their fear and suffering 😢💕

Call me stupid but I had no idea so many chihuahua's were in Ukraine. They really don't seem to be a dog people would want because it's so cold there in the winter but I've seen at least a dozen evacuating with their families. So happy people are helping our 4 legged friends.

I've been thinking of all the poor dogs in Ukraine. All the tragedy I've seen in videos of this war I have not only noticed the suffering of the people but I hear scared dogs in every one of these videos! 😢 💔 It's overwhelming for me to hear these pets who suddenly have no one to look out for them. I know some had no choice but I simply could not leave my pets. I would have my family and I would only pack my pets if necessary.

And after hurricane Katrina and the catastrophe it was for the abandoned animals, you are no longer forced to choose, here in the states. They, the police, emergency services cannot legally tell you to leave your animals. Obviously live stock is a different situation, I'm speaking of personal pets..... I would never, no matter the circumstances ever leave my dogs while, saving myself. They don't deserve that..... I went through hurricane Sally and the one right after as well, and knew if we received evacuation orders, my dogs would be right there with me, but I had no intention of leaving to begin with....
