Hi Steve, I can’t seem to find the specific Liquitex glazing medium you have, or the Golden fine pumice gel. Could you share what the generic materials (as you understand them) are for both steps so I’ll know what to purchase? I live in Israel, so I don’t have access to all the brands and companies here. After painting it in pastel, did you use any chalk pastel fixative? Or is it oil pastel?

I'd recommend fixative only if the surface is going to be exposed to physical encounters :) Fixative will lead to colour shift like a tint, darken the drawing or painting. True for both oil or chalk. If it is going to be framed, then no need for fixative.

Couldn’t you use something like Modge Podge instead of glazing medium?

Yes, but I think Modge Podge is not archival and will discolour.
