Hi Mr. Pitt, another great video. Thank you for sharing with us. You are one of the few painters I can tolerate watching. You are so genuine and humble. No pretension or arrogance. Thank you to your family for their hard work too.

Andrew, I really like the muted tones, creating the overcast atmosphere of the day. Despite the weather, it was well worth your endeavour.

Even watching the video in a warm room, I could feel the cold in the atmosphere as you worked and the sombre mood and feeling of the day was well captured in your depiction.

Such a beautiful painting, Mr. Pitts! The colors are truly alive and that's amazing in a painting that is somewhat overcast rather than bright sun! Always a pleasure to watch you!

Great loose style. Something I've not yet achieved! As someone who made short films for education purposes. Can I suggest that the camera looks at the work and then up at the subject from the painters front on view at various stages of the work. Thus giving the viewer a better perspective of what the painter is seeing and trying to paint. Lovely film and painting.

Thank you for taking us along. When you first started I wondered why you put the church so low in the painting when the sky was so dull and gray. But your painting really expressed the scene. At the end I wasn't sure if you were satisfied with the painting. I wonder what you think of it now.

Thanks for your interest. It is always hard to judge a painting straight away. This particular watercolour is growing on me. I suppose there is always a gap between the vision we start out with and the final result. The main thing is to enjoy the actual process of painting. Then, perhaps, some of that pleasure will come through in the final painting for others to enjoy. www.andrewpitt.co.uk

I live in Brisbane, Australia where we don’t have autumn. The summers are VERY hot and humid and unfortunately it feels like it’s never ending as this extremely uncomfortable weather lasts at least 8 months. During these 8 months I find it unbearable to be outdoors because the sun is blinding from before 7am and I’m dripping with sweat within minutes of being outdoors. In reality we only have 3 months at best to paint outdoors… we only go to Europe in winter to escape the ugly summers, we were there for 6 months one time and for the first time ever I could spend the whole day outdoors every single day without giving the weather a second thought , yes, it was cold and snowy sometimes but as long as I could stay warm I was outside everyday painting! I don’t think I’ve ever been able to spend time outdoors everyday in Brisbane for more than 4 months of every year, it saddens me and I live for the 4 months of cooler weather. I love to watch people in the UK and Europe being outdoors painting, wishing that I could do the same…. You are very privileged with your beautiful 4 seasons and cool weather.

Thanks for getting in touch. Have you thought about moving!?
@frenchgramaАй бұрын
@ I think about moving a LOT and dream a lot about how I’d go about it… my 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren are here and that is the ONLY thing that keeps me here, having said that my children would completely understand why I’d move (my preferred cool climate with 4 seasons weather in Australia would be over 2,000km away) - they’ve ’let go of me’ but I struggle to let go of them… I think it’s an issue for most parents… but I’m REALLY working on it….
@AndrewPittArtistАй бұрын
@ I know exactly how you feel. I was wise enough (lucky) to move before our son settled down. I’d like to say I thought ahead but we were just very fortunate.
