Wanted one of these for ages - here, they're spendy - bothered building one today using a normal car battery, a draper boggo slide hammer I had already, a tractor starter solonoid (24 quid out of the box) some cable & a push switch. Works like a champ & is about as easy to build as you can get. Well worth making & if you go with the simplest design, a doddle to make.

Very useful tool, a great deal cheaper than the professional kit but does exactly the same job. I’d be inclined to design a better contact tip holder and with the addition of the inexpensive Oem contacts and a stout metal bar, you’ve got a really good pulling kit. Nice work

Very cool. A+ for imagination and implementation. Um, your description headline (for lack of a better term), is kind of unclear as to what you were making. Something like “Spotwelding dent puller from scratch or scrap”, might get you more views. (Right now I am wondering if I should have read through the comments before I wrote this, but it’s too late now.) Like I said, As a former mechanic, very cool. A+ on imagination and implementation and finish. If you have more stuff like this, I think people would like to see it.

Seems cool... I definitely would prefer a verbal explanation of what you did rather than music. 1. Rebuild old starter solenoid. 2. Make a puller with replacable tip and add a on/off button to it.. I have a puller ..... Add spring to front of puller... good idea The button looks like the old floor headlight dimmer switches... just fyi 3. Make ground setup. 4. Use copper car battery size cables, connections etc and ground wire 5. Get battery with good amps.... I have a battery booster that may work well with built in plug into the wall charger. Understand Direct Current vs Alternating Current. Cars / batteries use Dc. Dc is safer than Ac. Homes use Ac. Both have amps and voltage. A ready made rechargeable battery booster has Dc with a Ac converter. Amps can kill you. Voltage carries amps like a taxi carries people. (Uber for the Minillineals).
@user-cg8cp2yl9n4 жыл бұрын
Using the battery as the power supply is not the smartest idea, the tool is basically shorting battery terminals which can cause the battery to explode.

A tool...not surprised it's pivotal in reaffirming how toys get thier value and are a specific and prolific waste of time. You don't need a cheap novelty welder you need to tie some kids to the rocker panels to protect the car in the first place. Nothing says drive safe like blood and death.

Disagree. There is a value in making a tool with your own ideas and your own hands.
@johnshilling22214 жыл бұрын
Rudy Padilla, your comment is only true for people that built things because they have to, not because they want to. Not because they enjoy building. Why do artists create art when they can buy it? Why do musicians play music when they can just buy the recordings? Why fish when you can buy fish at the supermarket? Do you see where I'm going with this? Be careful. It sounds like your soul is already half dead.

@@johnshilling2221 Best comment on comments! Your comment is why i like reading comments in the first place! Sometimes I'm happy surpriced and recognize myself in what is written and now I realize a 'mirror' is a tool used by a bright mind like yours.... as building a car spotter for a beautiful dent in a car exposing a driver's ability to create something out of scrap! Me.. ...half alive! commenting on comments on comments. All the credits goes to the Car spotter! Loved every part of your movie it sparks all your enemy and at least it makes me feel most alive... what is a little lie of course but who cares! Do I have a questions..... yes ! Was it the dent in the car that sparked the creativity? Should we give dents in cars more appreciation? And what about the person who made the dent in the first place! He or she must be..... of course....a genius!
