Unlike most people, I look for original ideas from the original artists, and then I look for perfection of concept in the cover artists. Sometimes an artist spends so much time developing a creative idea, that an outside perspective is needed to add the elements to the song that they may have needed... I'm not even coming close to saying ALL covers are better, or for that matter even good, but I believe inevitably there's always at least one that is better then the original.
