Some practical advice, put a written disclaimer on the screen. It can be difficult to understand spoken words, for example due to hearing impairments; or the video might be muted (if watching during a break at work). If you put up an on-screen caption saying: "I'm using a straw instead of my mouth so you can see better", you should prevent any misunderstandings.

There are many solutions. One is put salt, or fine sand, in the gap. Then hit on the table next to it repeatedly. The puzzle will shake, and the red piece will start to float on top of the salt.

You're not allowed to use outside tools. He only used a straw because if he put his face up to puzzle to blow on the gap, he would be covering the camera so the straw helped the audience see. You really don't need the straw at all, blowing on it does just as good.

I think it may work just by simple blowing into it from the top. A combination of the wind strength, angle, and the width of the wind blow should act similarly to blowing through a straw.

Use an empty pop bottle. Put the mouth over the cone, then squeeze and release the bottle. It will create a vacuum and allow you to pull the cylinder out.

An interesting concept but I like my puzzles to have a bit more to them, more parts, something to work with. This one is a bit too inane for my taste. I am reminded of the puzzle with the two wooden paces held together from the inside by a little ball bearing. You had to shake the box in a certain direction to get the bearing to loosen from the magnet that it was stuck to. This one seemed more like a child's puzzle.

you could place the end of the straw over the apex of the cone, and provide suction through the other side. if the cone is well made the straw should make a good seal and it will be able to lift the red block

No, he specifically said you're not allowed to use tools... he only used the straw to blow into the puzzle (instead of directly with his mouth) to avoid blocking the camera's view with his head. If you're going to cheat with tools, you may as well just use a piece of scotch tape on the top, or some small kitchen tongs on the sides..

There's two ways that I think this can be solved: 1. Use a suction cup. 2. Turn the red part upside-down, which would probably be a lot easier than finding a mouse-sized toilet plunger.

one of my friends brought this to school and the first thing i did was use my pointer finger and thumb and just pinch it out. it isn't hard to do it at all. you say it was impossible but i did it within 15 seconds. He seemed pretty amazed i could do that and then showed me how i was suppose to have solved it but i still prefer the simple way of just pulling it out with your fingers.

I think i figured this one out! If you hold the puzzle in the air an move it straight down. The red block will stay behind in the air, allowing you to catch it. This would also be fitting with Newton's first law of motion which says that an object at rest will remain at rest untill another force is acting on it!!

maybe if you hold it mid air and pull down the glass so fast, the red part will stay in mid air for some mili second and grab it

I don't know if I am correct but you can place one end of the straw on top of the conical part and suck the air out from the other one creating a vacuum which would pick up the smaller cylinder

you can use a piece of paper, wrap around the red cylinder and pull it out

Take your hand and make a loose fist. Close gaps between fingers to make your fist into a suction tube, then position it on top of the cone and create a vaccume by sucking air out with mouth, then, maintaining a vaccume, lift it out.

I would put my thumb on the red thing and drag the whole thing off the edge of a table. Then pick up the desired fallen red piece

i think if you spin the red part like a spinning top it would "jump" out and that would be not using any extra tools

Use a stick glue put it on your finger and place your sticky finger on the red thingy and wait till the glue dries up, and gently pull it up without breaking the glue connected to your finger and the red thingy. (This is another way to solve the puzzle easy, this honestly be a difficulty 1.)
