I really like Mr Flood's lectures. Top quality, informative and at the same time entertaining! Wish I had had such inspiring lectures and I wish I had been as good during my lecturer career :). I can't wait for the forthcoming lectures!

Some thoughts: 1) He sounds like he's from Scotland. 2) 360 video resolution in 2014? 3) Excellent lecture on Newton.

Hi, Glad you enjoyed the video. To answer your questions/concersn: 1)Professor Flood is from Northern Ireland 2) The Videos on our site are higher quality, they get compressed when we send them to KZbin. 3) It was an excellent lecture! Do check out Prof Flood's other talks on our site: www.gresham.ac.uk Regards GC

If we consider a sphere and imagine it made of shells, one within another, then the value of acceleration due to gravity will be highest on the surface. As we approach the center, the shell above our head does not count, only the matter below me up to the center contributes to g which gets smaller and smaller as we travel to the center, where it is zero. Leonardo Susskind says Newton proved it not with his calculus, because no one understood it then, and gave rise to some controversies. Leonardo claims Newton's proof is a beautiful consequence of his inverse square law. Is it possible to read his proof, cause I have not found it anywhere?Thank you.
