This was the very first episode of the series I'd ever seen, found it by accident while looking for something interesting to watch on TV one afternoon back in 2015. I knew about the movies but had no idea there was a series until then. Nigel Terry played King Arthur in EXCALIBUR (1981). R.I.P. Nigel Terry (1945-2015).

Loved the fact that they played "She Drives Me Crazy" by the 90's British rock group Fine Young Cannibals. Lead singer Roland Gift ended up playing the role of the evil Immortal Xavier St. Cloud, the thorn in MacLeod's side in later episodes. He was killed off at some point but his character became so popular they invited him to appear as St. Cloud in historical flashback stories. Like Hugh Fitzcairn he appeared in Highlander more times dead than alive.

@@lloydthomas2896 They learned some choreographed "movie fencing" usually based slightly on the styles those weapons were used but it's still not based on real sword play. Check out some Historical European Martial Arts tournaments here on youtube for a more accurate look at what swords fights might have looked like....with some rules and protective gear tossed in. :)

Every one is very choreographed and level according to the visiting actor's skill. There are some fights where you can tell the guest sucked because it was pretty much Duncan wailing on the other person's still sword.

Most of that list needed to die. With Sean Burns, it was under the Dark Quickening influence. With Richie it was because that demon took Richie's form, and Duncan thought it was the demon until it was too late. Connor wanted Duncan to kill him, and trapped him with the unstoppable move that he taught him.

Amazing show and episode . That was awesome and surprising , when Ritchie set the immortal on fire , so he could escape. He was very smart indeed ! I liked it when Duncan said to Richie (Noone's has ever beheaded themselves before; though you might make history! It was sad to see Duncan get upset, after he had to kill his old friend!

Christopher Lambert was supportive in creating a HIGHLANDER TV show, but he didn't do TV shows at this point in his career, so he agreed to "pass the torch" to Adrian Paul, but declined to get involved further. Therefore there were no other guest appearences of him.
