Seems like they (Togashi and the editors) want to release in batches rather than whenever a chapter manages to get finished. It took about 5 month to get 10 chapters ready previously, IIRC, so it should be close to that to get the 9 needed to complete the set.

Me and my partner were just discussing this. It's both a testament to both him and togashi. Him for having so many creative ideas for content and Togashi for developing such a deep and complex story with how little episodes/chapters there are.

Everyone calls gon’s ability simple, but no one remembers the whole point of when he fought knuckle. It’s a psychological ability, because during the charge up, you don’t know what he might use, and you have to try and figure out a good solution. If he’s far away, it might seem like a paper, but as soon as you jump in, Gon might use a rock and obliterate you, and if you try and dodge, he might use paper and hit you from far away. The fear of Rock is so much you can play your opponent right into your hands. Gon only lost because he ran out of aura, and then because he was too worried about APR to think up a good strategy.

That's the thing. It's the other person who ends up way over-thinking it. Gon isn't setting out to play mind games, he just wants versitility. The reason he is so good at actual Rock,Paper, Scissors is that he doesn't try to use psycology to predict his opponents, he is just observant about subtle clues that give away what is about to happen. That's why he always beats Killua. It is also how it plays out in battles too. While the opponent is trying to figure out Gon's attack choice, Gon is just going to use the one that that works best because his super senses clue him in on the enemy's next move. The best counter to Gon is to turn your brain off and relentlessly attack so he cant charge up.

For emission I actually really like the idea of him emitting nen beasts which take the form of forest creatures that fight alongside him. If he really wanted to he could even splash a bit of manipulation to control them during combat. But the idea of Gon just being surrounded by woodland creatures feels so natural

I encourage everyone to think about their own Nen-Aliity: ITS FUN, to say the least. But the question is if you can cheat the System (to a reasonable extend :) Wouldnt even want anything more) so i ask your thoughts on this: What about a catalyst-ability whose sole purpose it to be Useless and even HIGHLY Restrictive and then multiple more Abilities that all have the teeny tiny Restriction 'Can only be used while the useless Ability is active'. I can think of countles ways how this will not work but a few where it would actually work: You just gotta have 3+ Ability-Slots but more importantly have Restrictions that 'act on you' as long as its activated or even outright all-the-time. Kurapika, i think, gave me the idea cause i wondered if Emperors Time extreme Cost only helps Emperor Time or them all

Manipulator Gon has a decent chance of making his ability manipulating his own body. Pushing his body to fight even when injured, or hurting himself by hitting harder than he should be able to would be very Gon. A passive ability like the Trust Seed could be forming concurrently without his knowledge. He manipulates others, but not often consciously.

With the Power to pull/fish a nin beasts that will imbue Gon with various effects and each with their own conditions. But as part of Gon's journey these ninbeasts are his unconscious creation connected to his current experiences, and he has to overpower/subdue them the first time he catches them. Otherwise they'll disappear forever or maybe randomly pops out while Gon is going to pull an already tamed ninbeast, antagonizing him in addition to the enemy he was supposed to used the power against. ☺️

I think Gon losing his rod was probably one of the few bad decisions to make for the series. There was just so much uniqueness to it that caught me off guard, like how he stole Hisoka's badge. But after he lost it, he became pretty easy to read. I don't think it would've been of much use in the Chimera Ant arc, but it would've been really nice to see him use it in Greed Island (I would've been much more fine if he gave it away at the end of that arc rather than the beginning).

Gon losing his nen opens up the opportunity to explore the rare change of nen affinity. Post mortem nen was discussed in Yorknew and not seen until the Hisoka/Chrollo fight. Knov could easily connect Gon and Kurapika and have his Nen reawakened to assist.

Pretty good speculations I can see Gon having these powers. To add to the fishing pole; add a bit of transmutation to make the fishing line extra sharp or sturdy. If he is able to tap into manipulation he can make the line move as if it's alive.

I think it would be more interesting for Gon to conjure only the fishing line for the rod. The restriction on only using his rod combined with the multi-purpose nature of fishing line that can be further manipulated leads to creative outcomes. He would be able to cast multiple bobbers and hooks out while retaining the ability to change which "line" he was using. Combined with bells and vibration via contact with the taut line, he could track/trap nearly anything. Manipulator Gon also can be fishing pole based, with a restriction revolving around the fishing hook making contact. In fact, this somewhat solves the emission problem, as emitting from the fishing bobber is technically not outside your aura if extended along the length of the line.

Just on the side note relating to defeating the king and royal guards. There is 1 person, who is dead already, but who could easily defeat Meruem and all royal guards. Baise, whose ability was 180 min love slave, when she kisses person, he becomes her slave. If she was alive, team puts her on Meleoron, they rush to the King, while he sits and do nothing, play Gungi, for example. She kiseses him, and King will not even notice or be able to dodge, because when Meleoron power activated, noone feels their presence, even when touching. After Meruem becomes her slave, she orders him to kill all the royal guards and then kill himself. Easy.

Great Video as always! One thing I would mention is that Aura Type doesn’t seem to be Random. For Example: Killua’s Family all have a pattern for Aura Type which could be Herediatary or could be from an individuals Character. I believe the Ladder is the case because of how the Zoldycks raise their children and manipulate their development. And if that’s the case, Gon wouldn’t have the same Characteristics and Personality Traits of the Enhancer Gon we know. So the Close Combat idea wouldn’t neccesarily always be the case. Oh and Hisoka’s Personality Test also sort of verifies my theory of course too. Essentially, The Gon we know would always be an Enhancer. Manipulator Gon would likely be an entirely different person than the Gon we know.

I think manipulation could also move away from people, and go into nature. As you mentioned, he was raised a hunter and fisherman. I could see him learning how to control flora and fauna. That would also give him better combat abilities, something Gon would 100% always want.

Manipulating wild creatures, especially when you can do it en masse is terrifying. In just a few minutes he could bring hundreds of hawks, coyotes and snakes. Just the sheer number would be difficult to fight against, but even more so if they are enhanced with nen. But the best part is stinging insects. Fun fact: everyone is allergic to the toxins in bee or wasp venom, just some people are a lot more sensitive to it. But if anyone gets stung a few hundred times, without treatment they will still die of anaphylactic shock. Now imagine Gon suddenly summons every stinging insect from the surrounding few square miles. Ten-thousand of them. Even if you eliminate 99%, the rest are still enough to kill.

I totally agree on your ideas for Transmuter Gon, Emission Gon and Conjuration Gon. I think manipulator Gon would most likely do something with plants like Zushi. As soon as Wing explains to him how the Divination test works, he'd start thinking about other ways he can make Leaves move. He probably ends up with a leaf blade and leaf shuriken. And as far as Specialization Gon, I think he tries to create his original 3 abilities, the fishing pole, the nature manipulation and something special related to whatever happens to the cup, water and leaf during divination. Because if you are specialists something random happens to the cup of water and leaf that you're pouring your aura into. Like if it turned invisible, Gon with try to make himself and all of his attacks invisible. The reason Gon came up with Jajaken is the fact that he was good at rock-paper-scissors. It's possible when he specializes he turns the fight into a game. You lose the match you get knocked out. You refuse to play you get knocked out. Something silly along those lines

If I were Gon and I were an Emitter, I'd utilize my fishing rod there too. Make a Nen ability similar to Beach Boy from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, creating tiny portals for my fishing hook & wire to go through which wouldn't tax my Nen capacity much. Being close to the Enhancer and Manipulator affinities, I could reinforce the wire with Shu and learn to manipulate its direction and momentum. A fishing line that could appear from anywhere at any direction and hook you is kinda terrifying.

I think a specialist gon would take inspiration from kite. Gon would have a set of different nen weapons for each category (disregarding conjured and specialist.) Gauntlets for enhancement , a sword for transmuter, a gun of some kind for emitter, and his fishing rod for minipulator.

tbh i don't think gon would manipulate his friends to do what he wants, even at his lowest point. gon got to his lowest point because kite, who is someone he cherished, suffered because of his weakness. i have always seen the scene where gon yelled at killua as him pushing killua away because he felt like he should be the one taking full responsibility as it was his fault and that he shouldn't involve killua in the mess he caused. that's just my opinion tho :D

I agree with transmutation and emission although I think he’d create different versions of either scissors or paper cause Bisky would have him focus on his 80% nen types. In transmutations case I could see him using conjuration to literally just conjure immensely durable paper that he wraps around the opponent to recreate paper. In emissions case for scissors I could see him taking a non-mind control route possibly manipulating nearby materials to form a sword then sort of pupeetering the sword with manipulation to increase the momentum and force.

Emission is not quite as bad as you make it sound like. As range is just inherently a very good thing by itself. It would simply be the most overpowered affinity if emitters could completely negate the emission losses. I mean what would then prevent someone from just shooting ultra fast projectiles from outside any en detection radius? The main advantage of en is detecting physical bodies and anticipating the consequences of their actions. Even for nen masters actually dodging (nen) bullets would be a problem. (Which I think is one of the main ideas behind Zeno's airdrop attack. Taking advantage of the fact that people don't look up as much. Ninja tactics 101.)

The craze thing is emmiters can reduce and almost negate the emission loses if they restrict the use to something else, like an swordsman emmiting slashs every time they cut with the sword, in this case the slash can letal even if the target is 1 mile away, but if the emmiter use the same abilit without the sowrd it is onlu letal like 10 meters away.

The most simplest way is to concentrate a single thread of aura and compressed it to the point of penetrating everything. Kinda like a laser beam but more powerful. That way there would be no loss of aura as its still connected to your body. I think Togashi would do that seeing how he takes reference from Yu Yu Hakusho. A similar ability like the Spirit Gun or something

I think conjurer ton is my favorite, in the beginning of the series he was well know for how he outwitted himself out of problems. His rod could be a representation of that. I really like the idea of gon using specialization to make a area that once you enter you can’t leave he knows everything about and it gives all his senses a five times buff the problem it takes a lot of set up like one you need to at least have one living plant in the area and the sun needs to be visible or something like that

my guess is that specialists don't necessay do something that would be impossible in another nen category but rather they are born with an innate hatsu that cannot be achieved by others due to it's complexity for example a conjurer could teoretically make "skill hunter" like chrollo but the necessary aura to make it work would be way over human limits guess what i'm trying to say is that they are born with a free pass for a specific ability that would normally be too aura expensive to work

Honestly after the greed island training arc, as a specialist or conjure i see him recreating alot of the cards and bejng a partial magic card user. Kite would probably take interest and help him woth restrictions and better use of it and Gon would have been more useful in the entrie chimera arc. I dont even see Kite dying in these scenarios.

I really love conjurer Gon's fishing rod idea. But the thing about specialization, is that it's right next to conjurization. So speciqlis5 Gon may have a super rod as a supplemental hatsu.

The oversight with regard to your idea of Gon as a manipulator is that you seem to forget that manipulators are not necessarily limited just to manipulating other people. Manipulators can also develop abilities to control animals or inanimate objects, and things can get pretty wild when manipulation is combined with other affinities (like Morel). Given that Gon has a tremendous affinity for the wild and animals, it would be easy to see him having a manipulation ability that allows him to interface with the natural world in some way…like…perhaps…manipulating natural phenomena, like weather, to some extent.

Maybe his version of emperor time would have the drawback of losing his natural enhanced senses and affinies that he had honed so enhhansed vision and smell he would lose his natural enhansed vision and smell and be normal or even totally lose it having to rely on others but definitely enhansing the remaining ones maybe lost senses for the amount of time that he used the ability

There doesn't have to be drawbacks necessary as long as he doesn't make a nen vow. Kurapika's restrictions is great because he chose it in exchange for power. Also I don't think the writer would reuse nen abilities.

Gon is basically a much younger version of Ging, so I can see him being similar to whatever he is. Some speculate that Ging is a Specialist and I can see Gon being one as well. The way I see it, Gon would have eventually dropped Jajanken for another Nen ability anyway.

I feel more than hunting groun it would be "Perfect hunter" mostly because his main desire was to "Hunt" the wearabouts of his father, this could give him higthen senses for hunting, concealment to be undetected and something like some kind of nen tracking skill, where he sees the path to the "prey"

Imagine a story variant with Conjurer Gon where he learns Nen in Greed Island like before but he has to give his Fishing Rod away for the sake of gaining a card like in the Manga. Than for a while he feels incomplet and dwarfed by other in battle. As his Nen Training progress and he trys to creat his Hatsu he hits a roadblock until he at one point conjurers a Fishing Rod just because he want to fish again for a change. Dense as Gon is it takes him a few days until he finally realises what his Hatsu in battle should be - a Fishing Rod with Multiple Baits and varing effects. His Final Move will than be to use the Fishing Rod to pull the Riverking out of the Ground like he did with it in the first Episode and have it as a Battle Companion and Mount.

Idk why but I love the idea of gon taking hunter to a new level. Imagine him being a literal hunter that has the normal weapons a hunter would have but x100000 . A rifle that breaks through any nen , and if it hit they are dead. Or a fishing rod that always lured them back in for what ever reason. Then imagine like a tag or something that he could put on the people getting hunter to track them
