When I read this arc and saw Ging offer all that money, my first thought was that Ging doing so was actually to set up some kind of Nen condition/bond with each and every one of the people under Pariston. Whatever this bond could be (be it stealing their abilities or crippling them heavily or somehow gaining control of them or whatever) would make toppling Pariston less of a pain.

The common theory in the community is Ging is always taking 10 friends such as greed island and his exploring team and thus he’s a collaborative emission type with the ability to use his hatsu to do very permanent things with the help of 10 others as friends

@@jackfelt1983 Cheers for sharing that makes sense! After finishing the 2011 anime back in 2020 and loving it, I decided not to read the manga straight away due to the breaks and hiatuses. So I actively avoided any kind of HxH discussion online but told myself if the manga ever came back I'd read it straight away. The day after that tweet I found myself catching up very quickly and since watched most of the NWR videos since catching up, since I always watch GLR as well. Also idk if you're the person to ask, but once I tried googling around about why Killua had no knowledge of nen in the same ways some of his siblings seem to. Illumi is older, but like how come Kalluto is just a nen user who seems somewhat experienced? Online told me probably Silva just wanted him to develop it naturally in his own way and deliberately never initiated him, so he could eventually grow to be more powerful but idk if I was satisfied with that answer, does the community have any kind of consensus on how that works? Sorry for the long text...(:

Theory: Nen affinities exist, but since every hunter can use every category (minus specialist) even to some degree, a nen genius (Ging) can just use them all to 100%. I really don't see why this wouldn't be possible. There seems to no actual rule saying that someone cant be maxed out in enhancement and conjuring. Just that like if you have an affinity for conjuring, your brain finds that easier.... so learning enhancement will be like hard lol. Now to take it a step further, we see many of the ants just shit out abilities, or at the very least learn nen super fast after having their pours opened. In some cases ants get their power from leol... but Cheetu is a good example of someone who just makes one on the fly, when fighting Morel. So in Gings case, being a genius and all, I really dont see why he couldnt just be sooooo smart that he sees someones ability and just shits out his own version. He's not a specialist, he's just used nen for years and is really smart. Think of someone who's spent years of their life painting landscapes and then someone asks them to paint a portrait, but they've never done that before. Well I'd imagine they could just bust out a pretty decent portrait using all the years of painting, observation, technique, perspective experience they have.
@SmokeyNalgaz2 жыл бұрын
agreed friend. and to add to your point, to me it seems people can usually max out one catagory(being their main nen type specialist enhancer etc)but juat like a normal life people are prettty average, meaning mastering and becoming a boss with your nen for most would take moost their life, so for them they can just be effective with their main nen type and the two neighbors, but if you can max your main out plus the neighbors, whyu couldnt you max out the rest? only thing holding you back would be will power, willingness to devote yourself to nen, massive experience, and to your main point him also being a genius, no way he can't be like a specialist.
@chuuya68402 жыл бұрын
Nen affinities doesn't work with "mastery" The ants could use basicly any hatsu they wanted because they had an enormous amount of aura The Nen affinities just stats that if you are a natural enhencer, you would need 100% of your aura to have a 100% efficency in an enhencement hatsu But you would need 100% of your aura to have only 80% efficency in an emission hatsu etc etc... That implies that if you were meruem or pitou or on of the royal guards / any ant actually (who all have A LOOOOOT of raw aura) You would be able to ignore the aura cost to create a hatsu and basicly do whatever you want with your aura. (Of course all of that doesn't include specialists since ... well the definition of their powers is that it can't be defined
@ggwp638BC2 жыл бұрын
"There seems to no actual rule saying that someone cant be maxed out in enhancement and conjuring" There is, though. It's literally stated multiple times that you can only max out at your affinity, everything else you can only reach a certain degree of mastery, with how much you can master getting lower and lower the further away it is. Even Kurapika's use this for one of his hatsu, being able to "max out" every category as far as someone with his affinity could, at the cost of his life.

What if Ging's Hatsu is something along the lines of "evolution", as in his ability is not to copy that of others but to be able to break every nen ability he sees down to the basics and remake it better, faster, stonger ( queue Daft Punk). You would need to have a supreme understanding of Nen, which Netero confirmed he does and is one of the top users in the world.

I feel like there may be a strong genetic component to nen affinity (purely based on the Zoldyk family). We know from old man Netero that genius level enhancers with hard work and determination can produce incredibly strong hatsu. What if Ging's nen ability is to enhance Nen powers he sees / comes into contact with. Surely having to be able to tank a hit would be a pretty strong condition as it may mean death from certain users (looking at you Feitan), meaning he can't just copy anything at will. Of course this can only be pulled off with a complete understanding of nen and genius level intellect, but not impossible.

I feel like Ging's hatsu being some form of foresight or time manipulation would make a lot of sense. It would explain how he's able to replicate an ability he has never seen before while confidently explaining how a specific person would use it in the future. It would explain how he was able to so accurately set up the dominos of Gon's adventure when he was just a baby and have everything fall into place perfectly. It would also explain how he is able to 'win' at this game he is playing against someone as cunning as Pariston. It might just be that Ging is just that good and he is able to predict things years in advance, but to me it feels like that ability would more likely appear in someone very old and with lots of experience, like Chairman Netero or Zeno. Ging does have a lot of experience, but he is still very young by the standards of hunters of his caliber. Maybe this isn't it and he really is just insanely good at prediction without nen, but I just feel like it would also make a lot of sense to give him some sort of foresight as a hatsu, like the ability to analyze multiple futures or see the branching consequences of a certain action. Idk I think that would be a pretty neat power.

The analysis power you suggested as Gings ability is super interesting too because of one specific reason: he was the game director of Greed Island It's like an insinuation that he is a programmer who is reverse engineering other peoples Hatsu through the logical concepts as to how they would use it, and "stealing their code" more so than just copying them. I like to imagine that official Hunters are like programmers who went to University to learn how to code and they have a sheet of paper for proof. my theory is that ging created gon using ancient nen. gon doesn't actually have a mother. ging found out the secrets behind the functionality of nen through the continuation of his family's work exploring the ancient history of their world as it relates to nen. he created greed island as a kind of sandbox or test bed to carry out experiments on the theories he developed from the knowledge he gained through his research. hunters in general were subjects in this experiment, but gon was always meant to play the game as the control to conclude the experiment. ging's power isn't the ability to analyze nen.. analyzing nen is a side product of his research. his real ability is the ability to see/read the flow of nen, probably. that'd explain why he wants to go to the dark continent so badly, which is probably where nen originated and runs wild. theorycrafting like this is what makes HxH so much fun for me.
@AgarioSplitrunner2 жыл бұрын
My counter is: in the episode where Killua is on whale island, we learn that Gon's mother was on the audio tape which is probably like: Gon's mother: hi Gon, I'm your mother. I'm the queen ant from the dark continent. This explains why Gon could solo a royal guard since Gon is partial chimera

It’s possible gings method of parenting is to pretend like he’s disconnected from gon because of the nature of the enemies ging has. That way gon has a chance to grow and become strong enough to fend for himself before ging can begin to really bond with him. Ging has some of the strongest magnetic force when it comes to drawing in associates and enemies alike including Pariston which is one of the most manipulative people in the world.

That moment of Ging projecting punching the dude's face in isn't reflective of his nen ability, but that his aura was so powerful that the guy thought he was attacked. It's just like that moment in Heaven's Arena where Killua's aura makes the one dude hallucinate his own death. Still safe to say that any inclination of Ging's nen ability is still very mysterious.

I have no idea about Ging's power, however I think I understood what happened with Leorio's replication of ability. He understands the logical pattern of the user and tries to replicate with his methods of using aura. For example, you experience a never before seen faint on a boxing match, that was done by a rookie (representing Leorio) and it worked on a pro fighter. Using the experience and understanding of boxing the pro fighter implements the faint several times more effective and can go beyond of that faint (representing the Ultra Sound ability) using the same pattern that the rookie fighter doesn't even know it's possible to produce. Ging simply replicated the ability several levels higher, if Leorio's ability was to be placed at level 1, Ging would be level 40 or more, but Ging's such a genius that he can see the progress that Leorio's is going to make, or can make, that he already invented Ultra Sould. (sorry if it's confusing or I didn't make it understandable, English is my second language)

About their nen affinities, I would bet good money that Ging is a Specialist and Pariston is a Manipulator. Considering Hisoka's "test" their personalities fit into those categories. If we take into accoount how Ging learned Leorio's technique by just getting into contact with it, it's easy to see that he's one of those Specialists who can somehow have full access to other nen types (like Chorllo, Kurapika and the lion chimera ant). Pariston's case is self explanatory since he's an extremely manipulative person.
@Bryanseas2 жыл бұрын
Ging is a specialist. Ging , if you look at minor details to what Gon said about Ging, and what Ging has said about Gon or to him. And when u see the info on don, one can logically cometo the conclusion that don freecs is gings original form, working out the dark continent in the past or future, while his copy takes care and looks after Gon. “I know when you are near, i will be far when you are” the hunter of hunters, Gon will catch his true dad some day . Oops.. edit: left out the most important detail😂this would mean that Ging Freecs, His true nen ability is time travel.

i really want this show to continue. well, because i love it. but because it makes me physically cringe when i hear the "gings a deadbeat" jokes come out...and i just want the rest of the story.. instead of making grand assumptions based off one of the smallest parts in the entire story so far. we no fuck all about the guy is what i'm saying. an perspective is a funny thing.. a little extra context can change it completely. it's sort of like the old anecdote, do you think theft is wrong? which usually is followed by yes. they broke the law and took something they didn't earn from someone who did. which to be fair, that does make sense with only the surface info you have available. but no story is that simple or short, and a great multitude of reasons could turn that crime, into a noble act. so yeah, we know ging left gon. we know ging is a little rough around the edges. we know he basically built a nen video game to train his son.. which.. come on.. that's pretty damn fatherly. we know he's obsessed with the dark continent... which seems like a fair place to worry about. i mean if anything from that place was introduced to the normal world good chance, without hunter intervention it would wipe the people out in a few months. which for all we know.. could be something ging does regularly. all i'm saying is that it's not a situation were togashi couldn't spin this like he left for a good reason and stayed away for an even better one. but still he expended alot of energy for gon and his development meaning.. there is precedence for a pretty good guy here.
@manumaster19902 жыл бұрын
correct. the truth is that people in general are quick to judge without having complete information and perspectives towards another person. In part this evolutionarily serves not to be paralyzed when an action is necessary to survive, but on the other hand when faced with more complex issues one should go beyond prejudices and one's own conditioning.

And didn't Mito take Gon away from Hing in family court?
@jmc28302 жыл бұрын
@@SolidSnake240 not in the 2012 anime, not quite sure about the manga, it's been years since i red it. i believe ging brought gon to mito as an infant and asked her and her mother to raise him. which, isn't a great look with no reason, but the reason why is never stated.. at all. so there could have been a good one... it's not impossible. then you have the whole, before gon could talk she was telling him his father was dead... so even if ging wanted to see gon or vice versa, it could never happen because his vindictive sister in law has his kid thinking he's an orphan. guess we'll wait and see. it's going to be interesting either way.

This is really sweet and all but goes out the window when you realize that Ging expected Gon to want to pursue him when he got older, hence the video game. Gon even admits that he wants to become a hunter so that he can see what made his father want to abandon him, so we know his perspective on the matter. If Ging cared about his development, why wouldn’t he stick around to see it? We saw that he played a mentor role for several other characters in the series, but somehow didn’t have time for his own son? Even a clan of heartless assassins raise their kids. I’m sorry buddy but let’s call a spade a spade. For whatever reason, he didn’t want to raise his son even though he was capable of doing so, which makes him a deadbeat. All the evidence you need is in how Gon views him: with reverence, but as a hunter not as a father. And this continued even after they met and had a conversation about Gings motives.
@otelloreichmann65762 жыл бұрын
Tserriednich doesn't reverse actions by going back in time, he basically lives 10 seconds into the future by seeing a vision then when it ends other people hallucinate that the events happened like in the vision, but he doesn't hallucinate that. The powers in this world are really weird. It’s the only universe where you can basically just wish to yourself any ability you can think of, and then sacrifice something for it. You could literally develop a power of immortality in exchange for never truly getting to live the life you want. To be the strongest person in existence in exchange for only being able to use that level of strength at certain times. It’s crazy.

Whenever pariston is mentioned I need to give this explanation about Netero's death. Hoping that some youtuber will pick it up. During the netero vs mereum encounter, netero was trying to force mereum to fight him, and mereum's refusal to fight made netero heart weaver. Which then prompted a flashback in his head of a conversation he had with G5 officials' saying that this extermination should be completed by "any means necessary", which netero deduced to mean "the hunter association will be blamed for this". This is all the information needed to figure out the hidden story that wasn't spelled out. Mereum could always be killed quite reliably with a group of sacrificial hunters plus knov's hide and seek ability (or any reliable teleportation ability, Raizer comes to mind for example given that the nen user fulfills the conditions required for the nen ability to work). But the cost would be nuking NGL or whereever the king of ants decides to make their kingdom at, like east gurotu being a potential nest. The only requirement of success of this mission is to change the location of the king to a bombing site with at least one person with Rose in their heart before the ants make alot of casualties. But the mission's failed, the hunter association was too late to act, 6 million dead, 3 million refugees and an entire country dissolved with their government. The hunter association should be blamed...but instead, they didn't. They were even awarded NGL. It was because that was the only way for Netero to beat Pariston's attempt at filling the association with his hunters via government intervention. Is for netero to "honorably&heroically" resign his position as chairman for this massive blunder. That's why Pariston is particularly hurt about this, he played a perfect plan that would ensure the government would take over the association but couldn't calculate or counter Netero's sacrifice that saved the association from government over reach.

Leorio hated Ging a lot, what if the deeper someones hate of Ging is the deeper his insight into their nen becomes? Hating Ging is almost like letting him inside of your head, which really is what hate is after all.
