I was there. I just stood silently and watched as the crowd exploded and gave him the recognition he finally deserved. People knocked him the last few years and wanted him gone thinking if they just got a younger more athletic qb their problems would be solved. Guess what...new qb same problems. It was NEVER his fault and if they could've built around him a little better he might have won a few more games and maybe another playoff game or 2. You don't know what you've got until its gone has never been more true. I grew up watching Simms and saw the lean years of Kent Graham (twice), Danny Kanell, Tommy Maddox up until Kerry Collins finally restablized things and bridged to Eli. The guy was all class, never flashy just went about his business and paid his dues and won on the biggest stage ever through 2 of the best playoff runs of all time. And people still wanted him gone. Well he's gone now but this tribute proves he's never forgotten. He is my all time favorite player and ill never forget the great memories he gave me and my kids. Next stop Hall Of Fame! That’s never going to happen. The Mara’s have owned the Giants since the beginning

Mara are okay. It's their "traditional" approach that is hindering it.

I've been a G-MEN fan since the late 60's and out of all the QB's I've seen. I thought Phil Simms was the most together, calm, cool and collected guy there was until "Easy E" came along. That San Fran championship game speaks volumes of his heart, commitment and desire. If they don't put Eli in the Hall of Fame. Something is seriously wrong with the voters. God bless Eli and his family...

Eli Manning: A very underappreciated quarterback. One day he'll be in Canton based on those two championships and his steady play. I don't care if he was 116-116 or if he was erratic is where he was the New York Giants for 16 years. His brother has his number retired in Indianapolis and Denver, Archie has his retired in New Orleans and young Arch Manning will have enormous pressure one day. Congratulations to football's first family.

Most Possible Respect to co-owners John Mara/Steve Tisch. What a wonderful time have been my decades following the G-Men.

It's great to see such a legend get his due from the organization that he put on his back, through so much good and bad. The only thing left is the gold jacket.
