The Manning Brothers are a class act and two of the smartest people in football...
@captainkangaroo43014 жыл бұрын
They developed into class acts. They were spoiled entitled brats as young men. Peyton was sexually lewd to a female trainer in a locker room in college. Today it would be called criminal sexual contact. Eli was such a brat he refused to play if drafted by the Chargers. He was going to sit out if they drafted him. And unlike John Elway’s ultimatum years before he was not drafted by the Yankees so he was willing to give up football unless he got to play for the team he wanted. He and Archie were rightfully roasted in the media for this punk like behavior. However, in subsequent years both boys were successfully able to rehabilitate their respective imaged through clean living and treating people right. It goes to show that second chances can be well deserved.

Well, in the case of Peyton the trainer filed a complaint with the University of Tennessee and some of Peyton’s teammates who witnessed the encounter gave statements as well. It was well publicized over 20 years ago. In the case of Eli he made the statements publicly and basically dared San Diego to call his bluff and draft him. It was all over ESPN when it happened. I’m not attempting to change your opinion of them. I think they gave both well redeemed themselves. None of us would like to be judged by the worst action we ever took or the worst decision we ever made. But that doesn’t mean we can forget what happened.

Eli has been class personified. I've always felt that if Eli had the kind of protection from his O line that Brady or his brother did we wouldn't have seen the interceptions, lost fumbles, and crucial mistakes that so much pressure can cause. But Eli never complained, it was always team first, no excuses. A great quarterback making the best of a bad situation. And his tenacity, team- first attitude, accountability, and talent paid off with 2 championships. Thank you Eli, from a Giants fan since 1966.

I actually already have a signed football card by Arch Manning. Now going back from the beginning my favorites were Johnny Units. Bart Star, Roger Staubach, Dan Marino, and every University of Tennessee’s quarterbacks. I have come to realize that everyone of these people are great people way above their popularity. I look for Peyton, Eli, and Cooper Manning to buy an NFL Team together. And that will the called the Mississippi Rivermen.

Eli is a hall of fame and here’s why: When looking at QB stats Eli is #7 all time in passing yards and TDS AND when you add in his two SB MVPs against the team of the decade in the Patriots one of which was an undefeated team on the cusp of being an all time great team that gets him easily. The fact that he was 500 winning QB doesn’t override above . Warren Moon was also a 500 and is in hall fame so Eli should be in also!

1 of 5: Brady (4), Montana (3), Starr (2), Bradshaw (2), and Eli (2). Went 7-0 on the road in both Super Bowl runs. 18-0 Pats, 15-1 Packers, 13-3 Packers, 13-3 Cowboys, 13-3 49ers, and 13-3 Pats. In 2011 he had 8 game winning drives in the regular season and postseason (T-1st). 8-4 overall postseason record. When he had an offensive line and a defense he had the ability to compete in close games. He has 37 career game winning drives plus another 5 in the postseason. He played at the highest possible pressurized moments against the hardest tenure while the Giants boasted 10-6 and 9-7. He’s 3-2 all time against Brady and has played his best in the biggest games. That shootout in New Orleans 49-52 in 2015 showed me he was still capable of playing at a high level
