I DO use the glucosamine/MSM/chondroitin to maintain as long as possible the other knee joint and other joints. I agree that when a TKA is indicated due to bone on bone etc, chondroitin and glucosamine won't help.

Regarding the home aerobics: I recommend aqua fitness pre-op for not only aerobic capacity but also for increasing the bad knee muscle's strength, thereby having more positive post-op recovery. It would also aid more post-op recovery when full immersion is allowed. Aqua fitness would also aid with the other knee, hopefully putting off another TKA.
