37 years old, I started watching competitive COD 4 years ago and I came in with no knowledge of the scene, or it's history. Clayster made it easy to pick a team to root for, his passion for the game is infectious and that drew me in immediately. When I pick a favorite team, I go all in and I don't look back. That approach wasn't always easy as a life long Detroit Lions and New York Islanders fan, but I've always felt the tough times would make the good ones that much sweeter. I knew pretty early on that NYSL wasn't one of the powerhouses in the league at the time, but I didn't really give a shit, I had found my team and I was ready to ride, and I'm so glad I made that choice. Being a fan of this team introduced me to Clay and Crim, and even though it wasn't in their primes, I'm so thankful I got that first hand exposure to 2 of the greatest to ever do it. Being a fan also introduced me to one of the most electric playmakers (in any sport) I've ever seen in Hydra, the shit he does reminds me of watching Barry Sanders play as a kid. Those first couple years as a fan may not have had the best team results, but the players are what really made me fall in love with the sport. Last year though.... I can't really put into words how special that was. That team of Hydra, Kismet, Skyz and Preistahh has to be the most likeable group of 4 ever, with Sender being the perfect coach to match. The vibes alone on that team would've made it my favorite season even if they didn't win a single event. That year was so much fun that my girlfriend and I decided to make the trip to champs to see it live for the first time. We're old punks so we were a couple of fish out of water for sure, but it couldn't have been a better experience. I mean every word of this when I say that grand final was one of the best moments of my life, it was euphoric. I was sad to see Pdawg go, but I know sometimes those tough decisions are part of the business. This season had it's ups and downs but overall it was another incredible ride, the way the team evolved from major to major was so impressive, peaking at the end the year like the best teams do and Sib turning into another superstar live on stage. Would've loved the back to back but it wasn't meant to be and that's ok, I'm so proud of the effort this team gave. No matter what happens going forward, you guys (all of you) have a fan for life. Out of every team in the league, I think NYSL's story was the most interesting ones out there apart from Toronto. 2020 season was the beginning stages. 2021 they picked up one of the best players right now, Hydra, to elevate their roster at least getting a 2nd place at major 3. 2022 was a storybook ending. Picking up Crim only to be the bottom tier team until they picked up Kismet and Paulex to make the Cinderella run to make it to champs only to place top 8. 2023 was the dominance of Subliners in the beginning only to fall off during the middle of the season. Turned it around at the end and was crowned Champs. New York Subliners legacy will be remembered forever in Call of Duty history.

I'd be lying if I said I didnt cry watching this. NYSL has had a huge place in my heart since the start and my blood will forever bleed yellow and black. Gosh this feels weird in my heart, but I know the future holds new and greater things. Stand Clear

NYC9 was simply too good to pass up? What a ride it has been. Seeing Clay and Crim bring up Paco into the player he is today will always be an incredible arc of CoD history. NYSL has always committed to the game and consistently made efforts to create strong teams that contend for championships, which is what makes CoD fun to watch. Thanks for everything, we will miss that black and yellow on stage.

@jaydenhockett9670 I'm not worried about losing Hydra. Id miss Paco I've been a fan all 5 years, look at my page for any clip I'm using Nysl-branded stuff. Win or Lose. I'm hoping it goes "Cloud9's New York Subliners" and we get a proper ending. Placing 2nd this year and the 1st place finish last year makes me question why this deal even went through. There have been so many cheaper teams up for sale that C9 could have bought and actually helped. NY is and has been strong.

It's been fun while it lasted and it was more fun watching the NYSL win champs but it sucks not having a New York team in the league 😢 unless cloud 9 still going to represent the state of New York I will back them 100% but if they are not going to represent the state of New York I will not be a fan of cloud 9 but if they are going to represent the state of New York and call themselves, the New York cloud 9 and then I will be a fan of cloud 9 but if not, I will not be a fan of cloud 9
