+New York Vocal Coaching Now the real question is how to convince my mom to get a vocal coach..
@sebastiancelesner95698 жыл бұрын
+Cameron Morin Tell your mom you love singing more than anything in this world (except her) and that it's your greatest dream to become a great singer, not necessarily famous, but that you would love to be able to express all your feelings with your voice without any vocal restrictions, to be able to reach your audience with a positive message, and most importantly, that you would love to sing for her. Or you can wait till Justin releases his vocal course on DVD, if he's still planning to do so. Anything you need, this is my fbk. I'm not a coach. I just love singing and studying vocal techinique. facebook.com/sebastian.gabriel.33 Hope it helps.

I trained with a female and a male vocal coash and they're so full of themselves. Unfortunately, I don't have any other options but these two and when I ask them about something they just reply "you'd get it later" I swear, if they thought me 10% of what they know, I got my voice to 90% with these videos and working on my own If only I could work with you Justin... Such a wonderful tracher

Very good tips! After 5 and a half years of singing lessons here in the Netherlands, I had to stop because of financial reasons plus her last remark to me was: "If you ask me, I am not inspired by your songs either." I felt betrayed after all these years. That's like saying to somebody in a 3 year relationship: "Oh you're actually not my type." I went from Pop- Country-Ballads to Light old Jazz songs because the audience said to her behind my back that my voice is good for this genre and it was: I went way back into the old music and loved singing those songs from Duke Ellington, modern version from Natalie Cole for instance and performing at the local theater. I am still sad about how it went. She told me in an e-mail that Michael Jackson and two Dutch female artists inspired her. Kind of late now! Well I am an experience richer...

In sports competitions, the winners usually thank their coaches. But I've never heard any vocal contest winner said:"Thank so much to ny voice teacher". Instead, they always thank their parents/sponsors/audience - but not voice teachers. Why does it happen like this?
@nasjalil50638 жыл бұрын
it is because singer's themselves have really big egos and want people to think mostly that their voice is something 'God' given to them. Fair enough, only a small amount is, the constant training and hard work of using proper vocal mechanics provided by the teacher is crucial to their development. Voice teachers like how Mr. Stoney said,are people who teach from the heart and leave their egos at the door, cause to them protecting the ego of their student is much more important. Sadly, singers should thank their coaches, i totally agree with this. Voice teachers rule!

Love that he mentioned #8 - as a vocal coach, I always get weird vibes from coaching plans, courses, or series that require an upfront cost (ie. Brett Manning DVD's, not just regular consultation costs). I get it, but it feels closed handed, and always feels like those that do this are trying to trademark some special item or trick, and there aren't any. The best teachers are comprehensively generous, so GO JUSTIN!

I have been singing my whole life. However, I have never had any training, I have always relied on my ear, and my ability to mimic. Recently, I was invited to sing for a rock band in my area and it has been so much fun. It has made me realize very quickly though, that I have a lot to learn. Your videos have really helped me and have inspired me to learn more about my instrument. Thank you, for everything. I think you are a fantastic teacher. I live in Boston MA. if you have any information on finding a good coach in my area I would appreciate any advice you may have.

WOW..Justin...you are a gift from God and bless you. Well said and if you give out your technique doesn't mean you loose your job or given out too much information...Singing is practices and not that it will appear if you know the technique. God bless and thank you for sharing all your knowledge. You will be very successful in whatever you do in music. :-)

Wish I saw that video before. As weird as it may seem, I was singing better BEFORE taking classes with my former teacher. She could sing but I always felt she was not the best at this job. She was not able to answer my question really clearly and we pretty much did the same thing over and over again without much improvement (10 classes). Happy I found your video, I'm actually getting better with these. Cheers! :D

It's a great summary. I'm wondering if you should have more than one vocal teacher at one time. Should you have two teacher alternating from period to period? There are a few singers I like and they do teaching too. I feel like trying them out but I don't know if that will confuse me as they will bound to give me different ideas or even contradicting ones. Thanks.

Hello Justine! I just want to ask, why is it sometime i can sing higher songs using my mixed voice but the next day or most of the time i can't?🤔😁
@NewYorkVocalCoaching2 жыл бұрын
Hi Zaltam! Great question! For a detailed answer from Justin, we recommend visiting his monthly live chat. The next one will be on April 24th! More info in our Community Tab! But, this is definitely common to be able to do something with the voice one day and the next it is more of a challenge. We need to learn to adapt and discover what our voice needs in order to create more consistency. Vocal technique and understanding how we’re achieving these vocal qualities is very important to consistency! Hope this helps! -NYVC
