If you're there on a peacekeeping mandate your level of preparedness is not the same as for battle. There should be a level of preparedness in terms of logistical, reconnaissance and air support for a contingency like this but there wasn't. 2900 as part of SADC. No support no logistics. There where 3 helicopters one was damaged beyond repair while sending more ammo to Sake. The other 2 where pulled out to prevent them being captured.

Noone was fearing them in SADC. When did South Africans ever know war? War is not only about expensive machinery. But the good thing is SADC is united. Noone is fighting each other here or has any motive to do so..

South African soldiers they are competent in their job the problem is the new government that took over after Nelson Mandela they made South African soldiers to be poor starting with their remunerations they are under paid paying tax now they even buy uniforms with their pocket money they have no equipments even their hospitals you will find no medicine at their phamacies yet they are the protection of the country this is a shame under the ANC government to an extent of deploying them without proper equipments even eating there in DRC before fight intensifies was a problem going back again their salaries they are small compare to other countries they are with in for this mission South African soldiers they are being underestimated here...the families that lost their families I mean is painful this government of ANC has messed up things big time they are dying not even remunerated properly what will happen to their families...SANDF is the protection of the country what we are seeing is totally a shame # bring back our brothers and sisters #here home they are facing with financial traumours is fine bring our sisters and brothers home😢😢

Dude, There is almost 2000 SANDF fighting in DRC alongside 20K or more Congolese soldiers plus an unknown number of the FDRL, an unknown number of the wazalendo, the Malawians,the Tanzanians and thousands of Burundian soldiers,hundreds of European Merceneries and thousands of UN soldiers,...an estimated total of 40K or more soldiers in that coalition (That is if half of them have not yet died,surrendered,deserted or fred).... On the other hand,The UN report claims that the number of Rwandan soldiers deployed to support M23 is around 3 or 4K soldiers plus the M23 which is made by around 1000 soldiers only...This means the M23 side is made by very few people,the M23 doesn't have any air support, the M23 doesn't have any sophisticated weapons apart from what they are carrying, plus what they have been catching from the defeated government forces...A quick reminder also that the Congolese army has air support,heavy artillery and all kind of sophisticated weapons(their jets and helicopters get shot at and their heavy artillery keep falling in the hands of the M23,which uses them very effectively in return)... Just admit the M23 side is far better when it comes to military tactics and the fitness of soldiers...The M23 can still beat the entire SADC and anyone else simply because the M23 has proven to be very well trained, very disciplined and they have a reason to fight and to die for,unlike everyone else!
