July 2021 Unrest leaves Alex residents divided

As South Africa tries to limp back to recovery following the aftermath of the July unrest, the root causes of the violence and destruction that spread across Gauteng have left residents in Alexandra divided. The destruction occurred during a tough economic period coupled with a tense political climate.
