@@davidmuchina4050Yes, but it is so rare to where you become a case study if you get pregnant with nexplanon. A common reason people with nexplanon become pregnant is because they have sex within the first week of having it. Its more effective than sterilization.

i just got it!!! i was absolutely terrified because a.) i’m scared of needles, b.) i have a low pain tolerance, and c.) i have anxiety. but it was a breeze!!! in my opinion, the numbing shot kinda felt like when i got my tattoo, but i was able to endure 10 seconds of discomfort as my tattoo took 2 1/2 hours. they did a prick test on me to make sure the numbing meds worked (which helped reduce my anxiety about the applicator going into my arm because the pricks felt like light tapping). when it went into my arm, all i felt was a little poke, not worse than the numbing shot, and i think that’s because i react weird to numbing meds. it was completely bearable and i highly suggest it to anyone who is considering it! listening to music helped me get thru it.

I just got it for the 2nd time yesterday and the numbing meds stung for a few seconds but you don’t feel when they put the actual implant in. Removal doesn’t hurt either for anyone wondering 😊

I had mine in for 4 years after expiration. I didn't have the money to get it removed. When I was finally able to get it removed, it was in there for so long that I had scar tissue around it. My doctor had a hard time getting it out and the lidocaine wasn't helping at all at that point. He was yanking on it to get it out and it felt like he was ripping my muscle tissue. It hurt so bad. The doctor was a butcher but I also should have got it out sooner. Just remember to get it removed on time! Don't let it become part of you! 😢

I just had it inserted. The local anesthetic was the only part that “hurt”. the numbing agent they use kinda stung for a few seconds, then it went away and i didn’t feel a thing when they put it in. mine lasts for 5 years

@@babydoll8879 depends on the dr who does it, the first time I got it removed it was painful because the didn’t numb it well enough. But all the other ones it was so fast and I felt nothing at all but the numbing shot. But it takes like 1-2 mins to take it out so if it does hurt at all at least it’s quick :) hope this helps

@@rita7070 they did, they used lidocaine but obviously not enough because it hurt when they put the needle in. That’s why I jerked, and when I jerked the grumpy nurse slammed me down (she was holding my arm) which dislocated my shoulder.

I PROMISE you it's not bad AT ALL. I LITERALLY just got it less than 12 hours ago. It's not as bad as it looks. They numb your arm before they do it. The most painful part is the initial lidocaine injection, which for me was only a slight pinch. It's one of the MOST effective forms of birth control. I definitely suggest this 100%

Can the implant withstand your body weight (torso) leaning directly on it? Especially if you were lying on the floor?

Yes. It is bendable/flexible. I still have one in after five years - need to get it replaced. But it’s extremely durable and you do not really need to think about it ever again until you need to replace it. It’s also sometimes fun to just have someone touch my arm and when they feel something toothpick-sized in there I tell them that I’m a cyborg. lol
