Very well made. You are my MC-707 idol now. Thanks for sharing.

That's really nice sound design and performance. I think you showcase the 707s best bits - the sound engine that's full of sweet spots, the really useable effects, and all the hands-on controls. I noticed how you organised your clips carefully, that's clever. I know you can do all this sort of thing in a DAW like Ableton, plus a launch controller, but I don't think the results are any better. I think Roland gave us a nice toybox to play with here, there's everything you need to get good quality results, and it's not pushing you in any specific direction. There are a lot of things that this box does really, really well, and quite a few surprises, too! I think it'll keep me from getting bored for a long, long time.

Got here from your post on the Audiobus forum - glad I did. Really enjoyed the track and loved seeing you perform it. I have an MC-707 too which, after years of searching for the 'The One' feels like this is really close to being it (still could do with pre-fader sends to move be able to move instruments further away). Hearing what you've done with it is inspiring. I love the vibe. The bass lines are great and have been trying to get that sound myself, but never seem to succeed somehow, heh. Thanks for your work and sharing!!

love those ambient sounds ! just goes to show the synth is only half of it, for many of the early grooveboxes effects were the achilles heal. well done on this set ! still on the fence of a purchase of one of these... it's just that lack of sample memory which is my only bug bear as well as perhaps that screen

Top! Do you have any harder moments on composing the song with voice stealing?
@tarekith3 жыл бұрын
It's happened a couple times when I was playing back all 8 tracks at once, but not that often. For the most part voice stealing hasn't been an issue for me.

Maybe you can help me out. I’ve noticed what might just be a minor little bug and wanted to know if you can confirm. With the MC 707 in partial sound edit mode and partial 1 selected, press exit to main window. Now if I press knob 4 when SOUND is highlighted to enter sound editing, this action also selects partial 4. So the bug is that every time I use knob 4 to go into sound editing, it also selects partial 4 - no matter what partial was selected previously before exiting sound edit. Is this something that is replicated on your mc707? Thanks!

It's a mix of three different kits, and I swapped a lot of the drum sounds out for sounds from other kits.

A mystery indeed.
@solomonjenkins95053 жыл бұрын
@@tarekith how does it compare to an octatrack and would it work well in tandem with one?
@tarekith3 жыл бұрын
@@solomonjenkins9505 Synth based versus sample based for the msot part. The OT is better at loops, the 707 is WAY better at effects and organizing live sets.
@solomonjenkins95053 жыл бұрын
@@tarekith why is it way better at effects? I thought electron effects with their crazy step sequencer was the best
@tarekith3 жыл бұрын
@@solomonjenkins9505 There are a TON of way better Roland and Boss effects in the 707. The Elektron stuff is interesting when you add in parameter locks and what not, but in terms of overall effect variety and quality, Roland has them beat easily. Insert effects, send effects, track effects, drum pad EQ, drum rack EQ, channel EQ, song EQ etc... Elektron stuff doesn't come close to what's available on the 707 on that front.
