Thanks for doing the review for our Ng11 Kayak. You covered the pros and cons quite well. There is one thing that needs to be officially clarified and that is in regards to the water leak test. If you were to open the rudder plate at the top you will realize that water can only get in from the holes designed for rudder cables that connect the hand controller to the rudder blade. The water cannot get to these holes from the bottom up unless you are carrying weight way beyond the capacity of the kayak. In the video, the water was filled from the hatch and when it reached up to the brim (near the holes for the cables), only then it leaked out. The only way water can get inside during normal use is when the water is sitting on the deck and the centre hatch lid was not closed. The screws holding the hatch are water resistant only and can let water in when submerged. A bit of Silicone will take care of it.

Are you suggesting applying Silicone to the center hatch area or the holes for the rudder cables? Any comments for the lack if an O ring in the center hatch? Thx

Excellent kayak for money, stable, cuts through water well and pedal driven, Rudder cable needs upgrading, and compartment needs sealing better, And kayaks2fish have upgraded the maxdrve mounting system.

I was interested in this kayak, if the maxdrive system is quality, and the rudder and seal issue are both fixable, I think its a good buy considering a pedal system like that alone will cost the same, without the kayak. Anybody got any info about how the pedal system performs after a year of use?

Best recommendation would be to look at as many as possible. then dive into the reviews on the product, dont just watch one, watch heaps to ensure you get a good grasp of the real reviews rather than sponsored stuff.

That seat misalignment is wacked, I know it's even worse on that Orca. The leaking hull is unforgivable. Whilst I like the price, it's hard to bring myself to reward severe laziness in quality control.

You can not with these. These pedal systems are similar to the original mirage drives

Im in the market for a pedal kayak and i am almost settled on this model, i have read a lot the rudder nut is loose, maybe thats why it leaks? i feel with a good once over it will be decent.

I will only pay not more than 40% for the price for a copy. They are selling this close to 70% price of the Hobie passport 12. Only fools will pay over 1,300 for this.
