Next-Gen Alpine S-Series Amplifiers: Power and Performance on a Budget

You know, I'd really love to get one, or even two, of these amplifiers for my truck. However, the Alpine MRP-M450, MRP-F250, and T320 I bought in the early 2000s are still working just fine! I've never had a problem with them in 16 years, going from an S-10 to a Ranger. If they ever do wear out, I'll get a few of these!

I hope they’re better than the prior series. Had my 60a for a week before I sold it. The mrp m500 & mrv m500 both have more zest than the prior s series.

Why is the damping factor so much higher on the S series amplifiers than the R series? In particular on the mono amps.

Do you know the voltage draw on the 1200 monoblock at 2ohm? Any dyno figures would be appreciated, most subs in this range for this figure go from 1200rms then up to 1500rms.. I'm looking to power the latter but don't want to come up short.

it would be nice to see some dynamic testing one these. Came here to look closer at the 5 channel amp and figure out the speaker outputs...doesn't make sense on amazons photo. What's the benefit of these vs class A/B amps and which has more clarity, harmony, and least thd?

I have the full bundle of the s series with two 12’s connected to the alpine ILX-407 and I’m having sound issues with my system, the sounds bounces from left to right and at times the sound goes completely out. Any advice on what I could check or how to diagnose a sound problem?

What is the difference, if any, between the S-A60M and the S2-A60M mono amps?

I have the S2-60 & a friend of mine has the S-60. Looking at the specs, the S2 is 1ohm stable & has a slightly better S/N ratio. Probably more but I don't have the S60 infront of me

Are you releasing a new Type X 12 inch? I see it was discontinued. I never understood why the RMS was omly 900 compared to theTrpe R at 750rms. Seems like bad sales decisiontodesign specs so close and yet big difference in price and this contributed to its discontinued result due to poor sales would be my guess should have made a 1200 to 1500rms.

Our X-Series (aka Type-X) line is being replaced with our new Alpine Status line. We do have a Alpine Status subwoofer/s releasing in the fall.

Yes you should be able to run dual R2 subs no problem. We also have a 1500W RMS power R2-A150M amp that will give you a perfect power match for the 10 and 12" R2 subwoofers.
