Great video series. I've been trying to figure out a combo that'll allow me a 3 way active up front, along with retain the overhead and door speakers in the rear of my RAM. The problem has been a reasonable dsp that can handle all of those channels. This should work great for highs and mids up front, and rear fill. Then have it control a bigger amp for my front mid bass, and one for my subs. Now I dont need that $1,500 dsp. :p

any further explanation of Anti-EQ for high level input with the Alpine CX 60 DSP? I need to know if it auto configs OR if you change the volume in your car, effectively changing your factory EQ to change.. Will it automatically adjust? The documentation is CRUD and says NOTHIGN besides.. It has Anti EQ

@todd Keitzman I agree but I can identify with what he's saying. I have gone to many "pro"shops out here in Southern California and they want an arm and a leg 🍗 to do an install of any DSP. I have asked what tools and process they use basically an articulate walk through plus any photos or videos of their "quality work" (wiring, how clean their techniques are)and have nothing to show only of the finished product no sample booth or auto. They get insulted when asked all key questions for a pro. I have a friend who is a pro installer 20+ years experience just FYI plus I have watched the many videos out here on KZbin and have emailed manufacturers i.e. Audio Control, JL and customer support top notch and spoken to other folk in the industry to have an educated idea of what I'm asking. So sad you can't trust 90% of those businesses out here just because they have a photo of a Lamborghini on their site they feel entitled to overcharge I wish I could do a undercover video to show viewers what unqualified services and overpricing goes on out here. Good work, I'm more than happy to pay top 💰 quality products deserve top quality installations. I know it's a rant but it's frustrating if you don't have the tools to do it yourself.👍

Splice your power source with a fuse block and run your remote start currently in the amp to the dsp instead and then run it back from the dsp to the amp so they both remote start. The power plug for the dsp will allow for an in/out line to do this.

I built my dream system 2 years ago, alpine 7909, mcintosh amps an morel elate speakers. Also an alpine pxe-850 that sounded perfect! unfortunately 1 week ago the dsp died, my stereo shop said this was a fluke, but this is the 2nd alpine pxe-850 installed in 2 years that failed, the first was defective, the 2nd just died, this isn't a daily driver, its my camping truck, alpine said i can pay to fix it, but my stereo shop is 85 mile away, plus a couple of days off to yank it an re install it - always been a alpine fan but i'm looking at other companys for a new dsp

Hi, sounds like it's a good build. I'm new to this so really confused as to why you need a head unit at all if you're using a DSP? Isn't there a better source or input for your system than using a head unit that's wired into your loom etc? Surely good AAC or lossless audio file could/should be able to sent to the dsp in a cleaner way?

@@R1davies I'm old an was trying to build the ultimate SQ system for me, i didn't want a dsp, i was happy with my analog system prosesser, but my stereo shop pushed me in that direction. Last time i checked S Q sound competitions are done with analog head units

I'm building a "new" unit with a head full of technics m5 separate memories and alpine headunits with 5x9's If my source is already FLAC then I assume I can bypass the headunit and just use the current "audiophile" DSP? Normally my engine is so loud that I gave up on music in the car. However, a DSP seems to be the answer for those times you want to drown out the Turbo, Nitrous exhaust roar.

You need a microphone and this fancy work of marvel that plays the frequency that cancels out the frequencies you hear using sound canceling frequency..tho I'm not sure how well it would work on that extreme of sound

Yes. 31 band eq, time alignment, per channel x-overs (HPF, LPF, Band) with different degree slopes, and channel summing to get full range signals.. let's you customize and perfect things.
