Firefighter here. I found this video to be inaccurate because the police officers did not park directly in front of the hydrants when they arrived on scene.

The police usually have back-up electricity and intranet in case of emergency. And police are usually taught how to act without equipment - unarmed combat, survivalism and legal education are taught at basic training. Usually all the police officer needs is a walkie-talkie and the necessary weapons. But the tech shown in this video is pretty darn good though and I'd be more than happy to have em at our department.

Unlikely that it would operate with connection to the internet.

Very helpful to see how these technologies could be implemented to benefit first responders such as law enforcement, firefighters, and paramedics. Wanting to become an emergency medical technician myself, and currently in training, it is very interesting too see how these technologies could help us in the field by increasing job security and efficiency at the same time.

Great AT&T commercial. I can't even get LEO's, Fire and EMS to play nice in the same sandbox in my area. Power Struggle you know. What happens when the infrastructure goes down? Then what? Star Trek would be happy.

I call bullshit, Body cameras alone take up that 4 million. Body cameras, Storage, Reviewing the footage, It's not cheap, And it's a constant draw in budget. Billions might of been a high assumption but it's definitely in the hundreds of millions to deploy this across the country.

This’d be badass, but I’d only see it being implemented on Military sites, government sites, and some Higher up departments. Volunteer Firefighters will still get the job done with what they have, and smaller cities too, would be badass though,

As a first responder let me explain to you where I feel this would have some issues. #1 almost every scene no matter large or small is very loud! Half the time I can even hear my partner who is 2 feet away. Situations like this are insanely stressful they are able to speak in full slow paced sentences in a real life situation people are on high alert and it makes speaking a lot more complicated. #2 I don’t know if anyone has ever been to a hospital but yeah... those places are busy.. shocker I know... we currently have radios that patch directly to the hospital... guess what people they have even hired to handle the radio get pulled aside to do 100 other jobs that are even more critical than answering ems radios.. #3 SCBA or the fire guys mask makes speaking a bitch they have constant pressure to the mask that as soon as the inhale breaks the seal and allows the hair to flood in then stop when they finish the breath. This makes it extremely loud as well as if they need to wear that device on their chest over the bunker gear or firemen’s jacket there is no way in hell that is gonna hear him.. I could call out Alexa to my echo in a room that only has a rain going and 50% of the time it can’t hear me.. don’t get me wrong with all this I love the idea love love loveeee the idea but there is just no way it’s practical also... the acting sucks and if you have a hospital less that 10 min away I don’t care how fucked your patient is just drive them don’t Medevac
@NobodyEpicJr6 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Wyckoff I’m also a first responder... I’m an EMT and there are a few things that could help them become more practical. #1 some cellphones today have noise canceling technology where it blocks out the background noise so assuming this is probably going to be 50-100 year in the future that technology should be improved to work with a Bluetooth earpieces that everyone can wear. #2 this is concern could be solved of there was more interest in the medical field so more people could be hired in hospitals to run their specific tasks and their tasks only. Again assuming this won’t happen for some time hopefully we get more help out there lol. #3 just have the mic implanted inside the SCBA As far as the medvac goes you are 100% right hahaha

As an EMT, this seems like a HORRIBLE idea. Even though this system would link departments and communications in a better manner then what is currently in place, too much technology interferes with emergency work. Radios are pretty effective tools and for the most part, work just fine. With this technology, there could be delays in treatment and response and god forbid the internet were to fail, or your cell phone/bodycam/tablet ran out of battery, the system would not work.
@ColbyKordasmain6 жыл бұрын
As a firefighter I can see much of this system not being utilized to it's full potential and seems flawed, many things things take longer than portrayed, delaying other aspects

i would rather see a helmet designed to be worn on scene and in the rig. with a clear visor with radio capabilities so that you can communicate with the driver or dispatch and be able to do a CN. and would not affect the ability to hear your pt or other responders. In my personal opinion this would be the next step in improving responder safety.
