my favorite part about this whole video is how Elena Pinderhughes follows Ambrose's out of this world solo and fucking kills it. Plays like 3 choruses and lays out .

Ambrose has a vision. I'm a trumpet player myself and I listen to him really a lot. For me jazz is about development and energy. Ambrose's playing is pointing towards the future.

There's nothing worse than watching a bunch of high school kids who are better than you at what you do best performing with one of your idols at an event you have been dying to go to.

Sounds so much like Christian Scott, but almost better in a lot of ways.

Ambrose really doesn't sound anything like Christian. I like when Ambrose plays melodies and his horn in the low and mid registers sounds more like a french horn / flugelhorn blend at mid and low volume. I like it when he is blended with sax e.g. Walter Smith III like on Henya. He is a good player to harmonize with. His soloing is maturing though.
