Great video, Bruce. Really like the very practical and multi-angle, multi-situational displaying of the watch and you're discussion around the purchasing experience and the expected servicing. The more I see this Club case design, the more I want one of these. The case reminds me a little of the "other" Glashutte brands while still being distinctly Nomos and I like that. I'm hoping I can sell a couple Tag Hueres and have something like this join my Omega Seamaster PO. I think I'd get this one with a leather or NATO strap in my case!

@georghelpenstein-michels65863 жыл бұрын
i got this one about a year ago and i love the understatement of a very very well excetued craftsmanship Nomos shows with this one, with a more rigid approach for the daily wear. Only thing I would criticise is the clasp that is a little of a scratch magnet, the scratches are fine for the braclet, just showing that the watch lives with me more then alot of higher priced watches i have, but the clasp seems to look for new scratches just on the edges, but thats it. Perhaps its great that its not perfect, otherwise I would have to say that is the best i can expect from Nomos and this minute imperfection just keeps me looking at the brand on and on.

Just sent my blue to my AD for service after the stem popped out (known issue). The only real problem with sending the watch into Nomos these days is the cost to ship to Germany ($80 from NJ) and then the customs charges that occur on Germanys side and that’s before any service charges. It’s still my favorite piece and I plan to buy this black one too, but it’s good to be aware. Be sure to take advantage of your AD’s warranty.

After a clear out and leaving my collection at 4 from 14 I’m really thinking about bringing a sport variant in . I still have my Ahoy 40mm which wears big so wondering if the 42 will be just too big considering it’s all face ..I absolutely love the dial on black Tangente , mint green indices with pops of red what a combo They don’t sell the bracelet separately I could use the bracelet with my Ahoy too . Such beautifully crafted watches at the price .and as 25 percent discount is readily available I don’t know if I can resist much longer .. it will all depend on whether I think the size is just too much .l

Great watch and great review. I own the bracelet. If there was one thing I could change it would be to have it taper down 2 mm toward the clasp. As it is you have a full 20 mm under your wrist at the clasp and sometimes it feels a bit much.

Is there any watch that gives more value for the money? I think not. This is awesome
@Kadenbauer5 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you when it comes to the details. Nomos is awesome at this point. I own an Orion 38 and I totally love that watch. But for this special model I don't know. The bracelet is absolutely not my type. To me, Nomos was always a thin leather bracelet. What also bothers me is that Nomos as adjusted the prices pretty much up over the last three years (especially for the club models). Sure, they only adapt to the market. And if the customer is willing to pay, they would be stupid to not raise prices. On the other hand, Nomos has always been to me a small manufacturer that gives the customer a lot of value for a relatively small amount of money. But I am really not sure, if I like the way the company is on.
@BruceWilliams5 жыл бұрын
I hear you man and congrats on the 38! I do like how Nomos doesn't play the mark up game. For instance they could easily have priced this at 6,000 and I could haggle my AD down to 4,000. Instead they just priced it at market value to begin with. Most of the pieces are at higher price points but I love that they offer some sub 2000. Which is pretty amazing considering what you get.
@leyay75405 жыл бұрын
As I know, only the models with new movements are significantly pricier.
@Superman-vb6ph5 жыл бұрын
Considering they developed movements that are COMPLETELY in house, it's actually okay. They make the whole escapement down to the hairspring. In fact, they are one of the only producers of hairsprings. It was an enormous financial effort. The finish on the movements might be mashine applied but is top notch for the price.

Very nice watch. I'm really into German watches right now, owning a Laco and an Archimede and I'm strongly considering getting a Damasko. If I needed a nice dress watch, a Nomos Orion or Stowa Antea would be at the top of my list. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) the opportunity to wear a dress watch now that I'm retired is close to zero. Still, I think these are beautiful timepieces, are exquisitely made, and are something to be desired.
