Next On The Bionic Woman - Stereo theme

This is my own special stereo mix from the Bionic Woman theme. I thought it would be cool to create a stereo effect combining two different season themes. If you listen well, the right channel is the season 1 theme while the left channel contains the season 3 theme.

This theme brings tears of joy to my eyes. I loved this show when I was a kid and was always in love with this theme. Lindsey Wagner was such an icon for me. I wanted to be just like her...and bionic too! LOL.

Me too! That soft middle is like the creme filling of a sandwich cookie! It's the best part and reflects the warmer softer side of Jaime to balance out the cold hard bionics.

You can hear the love and care they languished on this show. You can see it in the stills. Check out Jamie, Oscar and Rudy laughing together near the end. Those days are over on TV. I don't know how you got this but thank GOD you did. When the show hits DVD it'll be a miracle if the theme sounds anywhere near this good.

I have seen other shows who's actors speak of being like a family, and there have been other shows where they did it right. I would agree however that, this series was ahead if it's day as, who would if thought to have stunt people jump from a height backwards, so when the film was reverse, it looked like the were jumping to the building too from the ground. Their depiction of the bionics was also a good practice effect for the day. I am sure some episodes like the Big Foot one, and Return of Big Foot were expensive due to the sets. Wonder Woman also did a lot with what they had. Much like the Original Star Trek, these series are grounded in good righting. Too bad some series like Lost In Space became corny and relied on cheap looking costumes, and Dr Smith being a fool; when the series could have been much more. First season was the best. Man From Atlantis died for similar reasons, they had good effects but there writing was weak.

I recall Lindsay saying that she hadn't been a very active person at the time, and running around all the time was a chore. Apparently there were also studio tours going on that sometimes happened during filming, complicating things. Of course, the really interesting thing was that TBW was at one point on a different network that T$6MM, and the actors playing Oscar and Rudy were playing the same characters at the same time on different networks - a first at least at the time.

such a great point. Lindsay Wagner's wonderful portrayal of Jamie Somers influenced so many of today's heroines and she doesn't get nearly the credit she deserved. I'm a guy and Jamie was one of my favorite tv heroes growing up in the 80's. She was beautiful, tough, resolute, sensitive (without being too sappy) and remained true to her convictions, all the while never being weak and wimpery

As a kid, I always remembered the opening was a bit cheaper looking than "The Six Million Dollar Man". And it didn't say how much it cost to make her bionic! So as kids we used to argue if she was more or less than six million dollars! Lol!

Giving credit where credit is certainly overdue, "The Bionic Woman" theme was composed by Jerry Fielding. He composed numerous TV shows (Hogan's Heroes) and movies (The Wild Bunch, numerous early Clint Eastwood movies).

Only other nerds will appreciate it (and most of you probably already know), but the characters of "Oscar" and "Rudy" were two of the first examples of maintaining story continuity between different networks. It has been done since then, but it's less likely now with all trademarks being strongly protected by corporate ownership. (Buffy and Angel weren't allowed to be shown together for awhile when Buffy jumped ship.)
