After an intense 18 months of design, build, and testing, the brand new 2023 Subaru WRX rally car makes its competition debut at the Ojibwe Forests Rally in Minnesota. With Brandon Semenuk and Keaton Williams already crowned as ARA Champions for the second time, the Subaru Motorsports USA team is focused on proving the new car under the harsh conditions of competition.

I think it does a great job of highlighting just how aggressive the bodywork is to evacuate air pressure from the wheel wells. But from a purely aesthetic standpoint it's not my favorite decision.

I pray too see competition I hate too say this but last yr was utter boredom compared too the battles of previous years .ARA has one or two drivers with real God given talent. then we have a whole bunch of rich folks that have the money too do Rally but have very little skill . And then the few that have skills can't afford a pro level car its sad there needs to be something that adds balance .

An entertaining mini series. Build process is intense. The finished car however bears little resemblance to the original car it started from. Why not have Subaru ship over a body in white? That was all that was essentially used to build this impressive rally car.

Depends on budget. Lots of teams run essentially stock engines but at the higher end of the sport, you will find fully custom race prepped engines.

@@maxentropy7596 Subaru is still racing but the STI is gone. Subaru didn’t want to put money into a new production STI engine and the old one was very outdated. Subaru is coming out with the WRX TR next year which will have large brakes, sport suspension and a big wing like the STI did. It just won’t have a more powerful engine.
