I'm sorry, doctor. The patient is the ultimate authority. If you trust, and respect, your doctor's ability, then you follow his advice. It should not be done blindly. Your proclamation suggests that all doctors are perfect and that you shouldn't question them. Patients should try to educate themselves and ask questions about any advice before following it.

I agree. Taking any heart drug is always a trial. A trial that will show if you a good candidate for the drug or not. Only you will be the first to know. If you register any sideeffect(most are never mentioned in the note following the medicine), you may take this as a first sign, that you are going to discover much worse consequences of the drug, as the concentration builds up in your body. We are talking about hospitalisation because of exessive bleeding from the gutter, low pace of the heart(pacemaker) or infections in the gall bladder or lungs, that will require hospitalisation and intravenous antibiotics. Most will not be able to exercise anymore because of the drugs. Some only experience liver or kidney diseases, that can be deadly. Your doctor cant tell how you react, before your try the medicine. You have a sort of VETO, to decide wether you will take the drug or not. That is not any doctors decision.
