I’m 35 and have bicuspid valve, I’m hoping and praying I never have to have surgery because quite honestly I am terrified of even having a filling. I have read that some people never need surgery, is there any advice for those of us that are truly terrified.

Family support play most important role in recovery process.. best of luck for ur recovery.. hope u will recovered soon . I am 6 month post AVR and recovered 90%.

Thank you for sharing all of what you went thru. It has been a great help. They are planning on doing this same surgery on me later this summer after I am fully recovered from a surgery I had a few weeks ago on my hip due to an infection. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I will be having SAVR with CABG in 5 days, and this has been very helpful. I'm not worried at all, but I know that the recovery will be very hard at times. I wish you continued succes in your own recovery!

I had to wear what they called a life vest for three months after my open heart surgery. It was kinda of a pain to wear. 23/7. Could take it off for a hour a day to shower. 🚿.

I recently had bypass surgery back in April and I'm doing well but I have numbness in my left 2 fingers and nuckels and I also have this nasty cough since the surgery and I had discomfort but I'm doing okay but I have a ways to go
