I tried doing this again and the counter was being a little janky. I was still taking the full damage from Bloodboon despite Carian Retaliation still making the floating phalanx. It might be a positioning thing so good luck. Edit: I should clarify that it was the flying Bloodboon that kept hitting me through the counter

What's your shield upgrade level? Since carian retaliation scales with intelligence and shield DMG I believe with higher int and upgraded shield glintblades can dish so much more DMG than this I haven't tried yet tho

I don’t think I’ve upgraded a shield since my first few playthroughs. I’m also fairly certain that Carian Retaliation does not scale with shield level anyway, since it was incredibly broken in PvP a while ago and From nerfed it. I don’t remember exactly how tho.

I remember this AoW being absolutely goated upon release. Would use the Wraith Summoning Bell and then parry to get the daggers and when they fired, it did so much damage that you could easily three-shot the Elden Beast.
