This is the sort of generalised comment the western media seem to enjoy making in respect to the war in Ukraine. If i was in Trumps position i would say to Russia on January 20, "we are moving the border of Ukraine and Russia to were they were on January 1st 2014. Any invading force that does not surrender or return to whence they came will subject to termination. Once the border is reestablished then free votes can be held to determine whether those territories want to be Russian or Ukrainian. At this time the Russians can determine what they want to do with their leadership!

I am unaware of anyone in 2022/23 predicting russian economic collapse at the time. It is different now though, as the foreign currency reserves are now almost ran out, the currency has lost nearly 30% of value since August (now it's been there before, but russia used its currency reserve to fix it before, which it cannot do now), the interest rates are at 21% and likely to go higher rather than lower at the next cycle, so things are much closer to breaking now than 2 years ago. They are also nearly out of tanks and AFV's in there once massive reserves. Not long to go, 6 months - and you can come back here and quote me on that.
