Honestly, this probably won't fix a charging issue; charging issues are typically caused by one of 4 things. The most common is a bad cable, the next is a broken charge jack, next would be a bad battery, and the least common is a bad charge controller on the mainboard. Try replacing the charging cable first. The charge jack requires microsoldering to replace, which requires special equipment. Same with a bad charge controller, if they're even available. The battery can be easily replaced, but if it's the battery, it will claim to be charging, even though it doesn't take a charge. The symptoms are slightly different.

zibodiz I’m in the same boat. My power light stays on when plugged in with the battery connected or battery disconnected. I left it charge for 1 full day and no change. I’m not sure if the battery is seeing the charge through the power up chip and I think I wanna try the $14 chip first. Axp288c What do u think?

If it can't start up after cooling and a recharge, it is probably not worth fixing.

Sounds like corrupted memory. You could attempt to re-image it if you can find the original firmware, but the memory chips are most likely damaged, and unrepairable.

What if the power light will not go off on a next book 10.1 at any time it will not charge up and I took the case off and disconnected the power but the red light comes back on?

That's most likely a defective mainboard. It could possibly be caused by a defective battery, but I wouldn't expect the light to come back on as soon as the battery is reconnected. If the battery is a couple years old or has been subjected to extreme temperatures, you could try a replacement battery first, but otherwise I'd suspect an internal issue with the mainboard. Mainboard issues can only be resolved by replacing the entire board; if one is available, eBay is your best bet.

Mitali Ved The issue that is being resolved by this method of repair is a firmware issue; if your firmware has crashed in the same way, this fix will repair it. If this doesn't fix it, you probably have a hardware issue.

Mitali Ved If this repair fixed your Nextbook, then it's just the firmware issue. If it does not fix your Nextbook, and the symptoms are the same, then you have a hardware issue; you need either a new mainboard or possibly a new battery.

The other possible causes of this symptom are: Charger and cable failure, battery failure, mainboard failure. I'd recommend that you replace each of the items in that order, unless you have a way of conclusively testing them individually.
