Today's guest doesn't have faith anymore, he has a knowing.
When Peter Baldwin Panagore died on the side of a mountain, his life was forever changed. Decades later, the intense spiritual journey continues, with a story that combines the thrills of a wilderness adventure with the awe-inspiring elements of a paranormal novel.
In March of 1980, college senior Peter Panagore went ice climbing on the world-famous Lower Weeping Wall, along the Ice Fields Parkway in Alberta, Canada. His climbing partner was an experienced ice climber, but Panagore was a novice. On their descent, they became trapped on the side of the mountain. As the sun set, he was overcome by exhaustion and hypothermia.
He died on the side of that mountain. And in those minutes on the other side, he experienced hell, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Heaven was beautiful.
Panagore's death experience changed his life and resulted in an intense spiritual journey that has continued for decades. It impelled him to pursue a master's degree at Yale Divinity School, focusing on systematic theology and Christian mysticism.
His educational background coupled with 30 years of meditative practice and 20 years of professional work with the dying and grieving has given him unique insight, language, and perspective on heaven, God, death, life, love, beauty, and hope.
I have told my story to audiences large and small for a decade now.... My story touches people's hearts; every time I tell it the audience is gripped and silent…. This book is about hope. It is meant to give real hope to the dying, hope to the fearful, hope to the hopeless, hope to the grieving.--from the book
Recruited to television, Peter spent fifteen years writing stories of hope and inspiration for his daily NBC-TV broadcast during the morning news across Maine and New Hampshire, reaching eighty thousand views a day as a cultural influencer and storyteller. Peter is a natural-born mystic with forty years of Centering Prayer and Kriya Yoga practice.
He now hosts Not Church: Mysticism No Doctrine No Dogma live on his KZbin Channel, where he deconstructs the Bible in Light of his near-death experiences.

I have seen other interviews with Peter before but this is by FAR the best one. It comes down to Alex’s brilliant, warm, empathetic and authentic style of conducting and orchestrating the conversation that allows the fullness of the experience to come across. This is the first time I saw the real Peter; he is a lovely man.

I spent 23 years as a firefighter, I am also transgender. Through both of those experiences, I developed c-PTSD. I have nearly died many times, and often feel like my life is a tv show on a screen. Through all of it, I have felt that love of “Source” three times. The first time it told me I was not meant to die by suicide as a teen. The second time I was asking forgiveness for the “sin” of being transgender. I was told it wasn’t anything I needed to “carry”, then I was washed with a sense of love and forgiveness without the need to be forgiven. The most recent was a dream within which I knew I was “dead”. I was given a chance to say goodbye to those I love. Then I asked about the medical professionals who had worked on me. Suddenly, I was back in my body in a hospital emergency room waiting area. I knew something was wrong, so I stood up to walk across to the registration desk. I collapsed as I got there, and was again out of my body. I watched them do CPR on my body, knowing I had experienced an ascending aortic aneurism. I wished each of them experience no guilt or grief for my death. Then there was an awareness that it was time to go. As the world around me turned to pure light and love, I woke up. I was already crying tears of absolute joy and love. I know wanting to feel that love envelop me again, and to feel that absolute love envelop me. Thank you for sharing this story.

@@kevapaulakelley-mck6670 have you ever considered Gnosticism as a worldview? The ancient Gnostics arrived at the realization that a conscientious, all-knowing, all-powerful deity would never have made this physical, material order - and all of Christian theology is an attempt to shift the blame of a bad environment (the predatory nature of consumption of one life for another) from an irresponsible parent (creator) to the children (creation). However they acknowledged the fact that, in being self-aware of a higher plain of morality, the real God, being spirit, is unknowable in this system of engineered injustice. If you are a conscientious person, and you watch a full grown grizzly bear maul a newborn elk calf to death over 30-45 minutes, and then you go and praise the deity that engineered that... there's something pathologically wrong with that kind of thinking - in fact, it's NOT thinking.

yes yes....i have often found it challenging to keep up a regular long-session practice, so years ago developed the habit of doing a network of many short ones each day, even 20 seconds at a stoplight, evolving deeper into moving meditations.....tennis, dance, etc, on into showering, cooking, breathing... once that network of weaving the tiny ones became more and more present, doing longer ones just happens organically....you DESIRE them more than from feeling a commitment to a more formally scheduled practice....not to place the labels of "good" or "bad" on either.....gracias...

"There is no religion in heaven" is an all encompassing statement by a visitor. Having said that, higher ways have greater Values. Values like... love, goodness, beauty, and truths. Attaining higher ways of living, is acquiring lofter Values of being. Surely heaven has levels of attaining and living in more immerse Values of being, sharing, experiencing, contributing, fulfilling and upholding. Growing within the Heavenly Family.

Today, Nov. 6, 2022, I am in the middle of watching Peter explaining his experience with the Divine, so to speak. I love the way that he explained the experience with the Universe, the beauty of the universal colors that one cannot define in our limited language, and the feeling of overwhelming pure love essence and the power of forgiveness to begin the healing therein. Through my birth defect of hearing loss that I had chosen to incarnate this earthly human body, the path led me to my early childhood experience of seeing my grandmother at the age of 12 who passed on and came back to be my telepathic teacher. Since then. my spirit guides have often said that “Love is the most powerful force in God’s/Source’s many universes. Love heals all wounds of life and begin the healing within the universes therein. Also. God/Source seeks to know him/her self through life firm’s existence in the universes.” This plain simple words of earth’s language is God is love and God is light. This truly is true for every human being on Earth and for every life form in the universe!❤️❤️😇 Thank you for sharing this beautiful video.

I have experienced something similar to NDE, but it wasn't a medical thing. The best word we have for it is "Ego Death". The first time I went to a place of light and I was only consciousness. There was no awareness of my body. The other two times I experienced NOTHIGNESS but was only able to put words to it after I came back. Observers noted that I was active while I was "out". I had similar experiences while meditating, and fasting, in total darkness for a week at a time. When in the darkness, I see structures made of light. I am in a room, but I feel like I am in an infinite void. Some of what I experienced sounds like what the guest expressed he went through.

I stood there one evening and asked myself why I was led here, to work in ER. The thought came to me: to learn EMPATHY & to face your MORTALITY. No truer words were heard. I enjoyed listening to this conversation. I wish I would have heard it after I had an unexpected shared death crossing over two and a half decades ago. A SDC is when someone dies and invites you to experience life on the other side of the mystical veil. We both perceived similar things. When we transcend dimensions there seems to be a 1 to 1 inverse square law that applies to the degree in which our Spiritual Awareness increases - our thoughts and memories decrease. It's when we perceive consciousness being consciously aware of consciousness itself. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience. The most spiritual aware beings on this planet are new born babies because they haven't had their spiritual awareness get hijacked by a steady stream of ego driven thoughts. When it comes to spirituality our EGO is NOT our amigo. We can't be any more spiritual than we already are, but we become less spiritually aware as source life energy passes though our neurological tissue and creates mental activity in the form of thoughts. We tend to get lost in thought. Consciousness can never be the object of thought. Peace can't be neatly encapsulated into a written or spoken word. Peace is a state of being. Peace of mind... is a mind that is separated from thought. It's the observer of thought. The EGO-self that we think we are... exists inside the stories that the brain tells itself. It's the Ego identification that creates the psychological separation from each other, in the same way that our skin creates a physical separation from each other. It disappears like fog being warmed by the summer sun as we cross over the spiritual bridge of life. The problem is our brains have evolved to conceal rather than reveal the true nature of reality because it was necessary for our physical survival. But that's a different conversation. Warmest wishes.

Maybe someone can help me here. While I thoroughly enjoyed this video, I don't see how the title of the video applied. I never heard the subject of faith brought up. So why does it say "I No Longer Have Faith After My NDE?" The title of the video would lead one to believe that his NDE experience made him lose faith. I guess what the title meant he experienced the divine so he knows it exists. Maybe I'm nitpicking here but I was waiting for the subject of faith to come up but it never did.

Amazing spiritual/human being. Things he described rang true to what I know. I also had a NDE, not as interesting as Peter's, but still as important to me. Many Blessings 😇

Very thankful that Jesus brings us straight to his Father so simply, as in his parables and through his death and resurrection, without the endless complexities described by Peter Panagore (towards the end of this) of this form of yoga and that. Jesus Christ is truly alone the Way, the Truth and the Life. We all need simply to turn our lives around and come to Him. That simple!

Great video but I almost didn't turn it on because of the title and my mom left the room. She thought it was going to be a negative NDE. I told her it was a great story but she said I'll watch a different one. I'm happy I heard Peter's story. Thanks for sharing you experience 😊

How come outside of the generalities (tunnel ,light etc..) everybody has a different experience of seeing and reviewing their life it’s never the same with NDE’s. It seems they’re viewing it through their own biases

I love what was told about being a particle thing in space. Wether I was dreaming or had a vision. I saw myself being a particle , other particles were wispering, I was listening. All of a sudden I felt intens love, to the point it was tickling allover. I knew it was God. Thank you for sharing.

'Everything Everywhere All At Once' 🙄 - so many of us have gone through 'similar' trauma. And if not, 'constant developmental' trauma which then the "persona" turns into CPTSD...And eventually...heal 💜 Thank you for another awesome podcast. It's beautiful to see how many truly 'sacrifice' for others - Peter's love (sacrifice) for others has kept him here caring for them. Can you imagine when they all reunite on the other side the parties they'll have celebrating their love! YAY! 🙏🙏😍😍

This was a very moving and inspiring interview - probably the most powerful accounting of an NDE I have heard. It certainly attests to the statement that we are in the world but not of it and that the pursuit of a spiritual rather than a material life is the preferable choice. Many thanks for this, Peter and Alex.

Man what a story....and i've been down that road. I have had 4 heart attacks and 10 stents. the funny thing is during each one i was never scared. I laughed made jokes with the doctors even called my daughter as i laid on the table getting prepped for surgery, i remember saying honey im at the hp im having a heart attack dont worry you can come if you want but dont worry. And i also refused morphine and fentanyl i dealt with the pain which honestly wasnt that bad. I now live with a heart pumping at 23% i cant do much but i am alive to see my grandkids grow up. thanks for sharing your experience it took me years to get through the anxiety of it all.
