Nick and Mathilde | NEXT MERIDIAN EXPEDITION

Күн бұрын

A snow fight, fishing mussels, a sandy bite, colourful churches, rubber boots, a salmon farm and adorable hosts: this week we visit the unique island of Chiloe.
Last week we travelled through the Lake District with our good friend Tom. But it was time to say goodbye to Tom just after crossing the border in Chile and head toward a fascinating island off the coast of Chile in the Pacific Ocean: Chiloé. it was the last bastion of the Spanish even 8 years after the country declared its independence. You will see it is worth the discovery.
Do not forget to subscribe to the channel, next week we show you a special episode with more day to day living on the road back to Argentina.
Until next week, take care!
Nick & Mathilde

Next time you harvest muscles. Store them in clean fresh salt water for a few hours before preparation and the sand and such will filter out. They are filter feeders and this will result in a sand free experience.

Watching you eat the mussels, made me want to have some for dinner....one of my favorites. Not sure how much rain I could handle on a vacation. As much as we have traveled, we've been very fortunate to not encounter it too often. Tom's family visiting him in Chile is a nice gesture. Looking forward to the next video.

Wow, so much of Chile and Chiloe look similar to Northern Michigan -- the houses, the plant life, the weather, the vibe. Several times during this week's video I found myself going "hey, that looks like "up North." Notwithstanding the breathtakingly rugged, mountainous coasts, which remind me more of the Oregon coast. Still, this place 6,000 miles away makes me homesick for a place that's only 3 hours away from me by car.

I really like your videos! But one of your Microphones just records on the left channel. This is annyoing when you watch the videos with headphones. It's mostly when you hold the camera a front of you and speak to it. At the beginning or 4:35 and 6:10 for example. Maybe it's a cable issue? If you can't fix it, maybe you could fix it in the cutting process?
@NextMeridianExpedition

yes... cable issue sorry for that. we have struggled to find quality replacement for our original cable that broke in Argentina. so we used lower quality ones that are so unreliable... we replaced again and will try to make sure that does not happen again hopefully we get new good ones soon soon

Shiloh (/ˈʃaɪloʊ/, Hebrew: שִׁלוֹ, שִׁילֹה, שִׁלֹה, and שִׁילוֹ) is an ancient city in Samaria mentioned in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament. Coastal chili looks super nice and some of it appears to be westernized. I was surprised to find out that 90% of the people in Chile are actually of European descent. And only 10% of indigenous population are left.
