Prayers for all affected by these horrible fires raging across Colorado 🙏. Prayers for all the emergency crews and fire fighters 🙏.

Colorado spends 50 million on two Firehawk firefighting helicopters made for night firefighting that won't fly at night. Make it make sense!

Sounds about right. DIA was supposed to be a 24/7/365 all weather airport. How many times does it get shut down?

That’s definitely a head-scratcher! Spending $50 million on Firehawk helicopters designed for night firefighting but then discovering they can't operate at night seems like a major oversight. It’s puzzling how such a crucial feature was missed, especially given the significant investment. Do you think there was a miscommunication during the planning and procurement process, or were there unforeseen technical challenges that prevented them from flying at night? It would be interesting to know what steps are being taken to address this issue and whether there are any plans to correct the situation.

Got it, Stone Canyon Fire. Thanks for the clarification! The Stone Canyon Fire must have been quite a challenging event. Do you have any insights or thoughts on how it was handled, or any aspects of the response that stood out to you?

What gets me. There are tankers available to states. But they cost to much to request them 😢

Fortunately the north and west of the first is the remnants of the Cameron peak fire which should slow it down a good bit.

Bring in the National Guard. I'm sure they are not doing anything right now!

This is why I always vote for any increase in taxes. More taxes mean more money for Government entities to respond to emergencies better. And if there's any corruption, scrutinizing how they spent taxpayer money is an easy way to push for reform.

Wow, that's an extremely interesting perspective! In fact, raising taxes to increase response to natural disasters could actually make a big difference. But there's also an interesting question: How do we ensure that the extra money is used most effectively without being wasteful or greedy? Are there any models or strategies that have been applied successfully in other countries that you don't know about? Very interesting, I'd love to hear more of your architectural opinions!

That's a really idealistic way to look at things. The government is incapable of spending money effectively and once you give them more taxpayer money they ask for even more still.

Why would people build houses in a part of the desert country.

What a weird deflection, the people voted for Wolves to come back Polis didn't personally push for it.😂
