Hi everyone! People asked when Sophie and I will continue this series. Unfortunately our real work has been busy and it's been hard to record everything we want. If you'd like to help us focus more on our content, kindly consider www.patreon.com/sinclairlore :) Thank you for all your kind words and support!!

You guys talked about the archstones, and Sophie pointed out that they kinda look like rotated skulls, but I'm surprised that no one brought up the Japanese mythological creature known as the baku. Baku are dream eating creatures which are often depicted as tapirs. The pokemon Drowsee, Hypno, Munna, and Musharna are some examples of this. If you look at the archstones closely, they're actually rotated tapir heads with a little trunk and horns. Also this is a bit of a stretch, but dreams are often depicted as misty, hazy, and foggy. Here's an interesting excerpt from the Baku wikipedia page: "Legend has it that a person who wakes up from a bad dream can call out to baku. A child having a nightmare in Japan will wake up and repeat three times, 'Baku-san, come eat my dream.' Legends say that the baku will come into the child's room and devour the bad dream, allowing the child to go back to sleep peacefully. However, calling to the baku must be done sparingly, because if he remains hungry after eating one's nightmare, he may also devour their hopes and desires as well, leaving them to live an empty life." I think there are some very interesting parallels with the Old One here. Both are hungry beasts with a seemingly insatiable appetite. Both are initially used for good purposes, but have the potential to spiral out of control. So this is my personal take, but I view the archstones as a kind of symbolic reflection of the Old One. The sword impaling the tapir skull is like all the swords and staffs impaling the Old One. The beast has been tamed, and is now used as a source of power to keep the world together.

I cannot exaggerate just how many Hellshifts at work this channel has gotten me through. Thank you Sophie. Thank you Sin. Thank you hyper-specific skin condition I have that allows me to wear a hat at work that hides the fact I have one earbud in at all times, which is absolutely not allowed.

This is a bit of a crazy idea, but what if the Nexus is like an artificially created Old One that acts as an opposing force? Rather than a mindless raven overgrown beast of nature, the Nexus is the exact opposite: a representation of the control, power, and comprehension of humans. They have a similar purpose. The Old One sends out (or creates) Arch Demons to go collect and gather all the souls for it. The Nexus sends out Demon Slayers to go collect and gather all the demon souls for it. They even have a somewhat similar shape. The Old One (as much as we see of it) appears to just be a mouth opening with a hall/tube that eventually leads to its core, which houses all of its power, and this is where it calls demons to feed it and continue its purpose. The Nexus has an opening with a looong tube that eventually leads to its core, which houses all the Monumentals as well as the Maiden in Black who _pulls souls through the tube into the core_ in order to use them to further its purpose of keeping the world intact.

Long time no see indeed for Theomony! But I have to say that Redgrave's quip game was on point this time. He pretty much won the podcast in the first five minutes. Also, Holdsy's work with pixel animation has really elevated things. I love the homey feel of the Byrgenwerth background, but this one's cool, too, and I like how all your guest stars have their own sprites.

I...thought it was pretty clear that the Nexus was located to the north. Lord Rydell found it and broke in, he stole the Phosphorescent staff from the maiden in black (who he called the witch of the sky) and then he returned home and told King Allant all about his adventures, which is how Allant found the old one and started the second scourge.

@@MarionetteDuAuguste Yeah I'm trying to get different theories perspectives on the lore (with the different Demon's Souls podcasts) so not every detail/theory is going to show up in every podcast. But I think as a whole, the podcasts will encompass a lot of them.

Just a side note long after the vidoe has been published but Jin in Islam aren't necessarily evil. They can be good or bad just like human begins. Though it's more common for them to be evil with the text and they are often presented as very malicious.
